Haha! They thought they'd removed all internet access from this public computer, but I'm too smart for them.
So here I am at the court house doing Jury Duty, where I will likely be at least until Wednesday. I'll try to make sure we still get articles posted, and i'll do my best to keep up my 2000 words a day for NaNoWriMo, but we'll have to see. Just don't be surprised if I don't read or comment on anything for a while.

Can I put in a request that they setting for TW(i)G get posted soon? I mean, I submitted it a week and a half ago, and you have it still sitting around. People wanna see it.
-
Don't do it! Don't do anything that will distract us from NaNoWriMo!
Okay, kidding. Hey, Fell, when you get out of jail, do you want to tell us how you bi-passed their internet-blocking system?
-
I bypassed it by knowing how to use Windows. Fiendish, don't you think?
And regarding Twig, quit your whining. It should be up tomorrow.

Would you like some cheese with that whine?
-
It was my immediate, gut reaction to "quit your whining."

ya just think of it as a temp Job. You are getting paid for your time. That way if you wife ever mentions anything about not finding a job you can just say: "Hey I did work for the state for a few days."
-
Juries only get paid in long-term cases, which this is not.
-
Wait a sec--they don't pay you? How many days are you expected to be out of work? For a person who depends on every paycheck, even a few days could be catastrophic.
-
I think its required by law for the company to foot the bill for employees on short term jury-duty detail.

don't know about Utah, but when my bike was stolen in Vegas, (and pres told us we should press charges) I went to court twice and testified, spent a total of like 4 hours of P-days in court, and got compensated by the gov't for it. Ok, no, it's not jury duty, but it was a small case and very little of my day. Someone should be paying you.
-
"Welcome to [Utah] gentlemen."
-
As it turns out, we are getting compensated. It's not much, but given that I was expecting nothing it's plenty. The trial ended today, by the way, so now I'm free again.
-
I was going to make a remark like: Well at least Utah doesn't spend money it doesn't like some states [meaning California].
I'm glad you got some compensation Fell.
