Alright, since I like to be the instigator of contests that take away from peoples lives and the such. Here's another one.
www.writersofthefuture.comNow, it opens up a new window, a popup if you will. Its a full screen one though, so I'm not sure how many it will annoy.
Not too sure what it entails. But all you have to do is have a work of prose, up to 17,000 words in length. The contest is only open to those who have not had a novel published professionally. (Professional publication is deemed to be payment, and at least 5,000 copies, or 5,000 hits.)
You also have to print out the manuscript and mail it to them.
They have prizes for each quarter (which begin on oct. 1st, Jan. 1st, April 1st, and July 1st) which consist of $1000 for 1st, $750 for 2nd, and $500 for 3rd. As well as a Grand Prize winner will receive an additional $4000. The year ends on Sept. 30th.
Only one manuscript per quarter, and no revisions are accepted.
So, now that you know, will you take the challenge?
