Title: Books you're looking forward to
Post by: fuzzyoctopus on September 13, 2004, 12:16:37 AM
Well now that I've paid for pre-orders on two books, I think this is an excellent thread to start on here.  Sure, everyone's looking forward to the Half-Blood Prince, I assume, but what else are you waiting for?

The final Dark Tower book comes out in just a week or two, and Jacqueline Carey's "Banewreaker" is being released November 1st.

Then of course there's that Elantris release I'm looking forward to a little farther down the line.  Anything else I should start stashing away money for?  (Hmm, all fantasy books.  What a surprise...)

Libris Mortis for dnd.  SE said there was more Conan books coming out, I will want those.  Sorry, never heard of Half-blood Prince.  Dark Tower, is that about the cowboy guy by Steven King?  I saw that series the other day and it looked interesting.  That's all I can think of.

Ah.  Never read the books, but I watched the first two movies which were pretty good.

Funny enough, right at this moment I have no idea what's coming soon, except the new Harry Potter and Elantris. I haven't been paying attention. It's just better that way, because I haven't been able to afford new books lately. The first time I walked into a bookstore all summer was last week, and I had a specific mission to find books for class. Otherwise, it's just too tempting.

Tad Williams has a new book coming out in November.  And Melanie Rawn just sent a new stand-alone novel to her agent for sale, so it should be out in a year or so.

I'll be starting my hunt for Halloween antholgies/books soon, that's always something to look forward to!
While not "new" I'm still itching to read Shadows over Baker Street. (Cthulhu meets Holmes)

The Grim Grotto - Lemony Snickett. I say looking forward to because I have to wait until my library gets it. Then I have to wait until it's available to be checked out.

The Grand Tour - Patricia C. Wrede. Again, already out but I have to wait. This one I actually want to buy when we have a few extra cashes.

I just got a copy of A Northern Light in paperback, which was last year's Printz Award winner, and was talked about so much last year (and I had to shut my ears the whole time), that I'm glad to finally be able to read it. When I find the time to, which is why it's still on the "looking forward to" list.
