The really fascinating thing is to compare two people with synesthesia--more often than not, they see the same things as being the same colors (a lot of psychologists are trying to understand why). Once people start giving you words, I'll pass the same list on to my mom and we'll see what we get.

I recently was involved in a study of Synaesthesia. The second part was to look at how it changes over time (some of mine had indeed changed, although the strongest associations are constant). My friend Leigh also has it, and we compared ours. He had entirely different perceptions to me, and we argued about it for an hour. e.g "Wednesday's Yellow you moron!"

I experience this with letters and numbers.  My latest theory is that it has to do with the color of the educational alphanumeric refridgerator magnets my mother put out when I was a child.

Ah! More support for my theory. Synaesthesia is supposed to be quite rare, but I'm pretty sure it's rather common within intelligent people, geeks particularly.

I see wensday as blue but that's because I speak Japanese and wensday is "waterday" thus the blue.  But they days of the week are realy the only thing I ever do that to, since almost all of them are named after elements in Japanese.  I know this is off topic, but there's a method to my maddness, unlike some of you.  Here's a list just for fun:

sunday-->Nichiyoubi-->sunday
monday-->getsuyoubi-->moonday
tuesday-->kaiyoubi-->fireday
wensday-->suiyoubi-->waterday
thursday-->mokuyoubi-->woodday
friday-->kinyoubi-->goldday
saturday-->doyoubi-->earthday (as in dirt)

now the names are actualy for planets sunday and monday are obvious.  tuesday is for mars, wensday is venus, thursday and friday are jupiter and saturn (can't remember which is which though.  Think saturn is wood.) and saturday is earth (as in the planet).
Screw it, I'm buying crayons and paper. I can imagineer my own adventures! Wheeee!

Wednesday? Blue. It's yellow. Next you'll be saying that "three" isn't green...

humm mistake in my previous post.  friday is for meurcery and thursday is for jupiter.  *wonders what saturn is in japanese now*  I know pleuto is the lord of death, and neptune is lord of the sea, they're just literal translations of ours.  Not sure what urenus is either.

Edit: ahh saturday is saturn, not earth as I had assumed.  I've realy forgotten alot of my astromony in Japanese.  I use to know all the plantes, constelations, and other space terms like comet, planetoid, asteroid, metior ect.

Well I'm both facinated and confused by this thread.  And disappointed that I don't associate colors with things.
