I know that we all have favourites among the main characters. I have included in this list of main characters all those who have a PoV chapter (excluding the interludes). This includes Kaladin, Dalinar, Adolin, Shallan, Szeth (he has had enough PoV chapters to be considered a main character and Wit/Hoid (assumed awesome ;)).
Excluding the list above, who is your favourite WoK character (spren included). For me it is Axies the Collector. Anyone who gets completely drunk just to do a bit of mythbusting has my vote. Seriously though, I hope we see more of him.

Oh man, I loved the little bit we saw of that guy. I wanna know what's up with him, and why he apparently is indestructible.

(spoilers ahead)
Definitely Syl. She is awesomespren. Especially in the one scene where she fended off the deathspren by charging them with her lightsaber. Love her. :)
-
I like some of the bridgemen, like Rock and Lopen. Axies was my favorite of the interlude people.
-
Syl is a minor character? I mean sure, she's kinda Kaladin's "sidekick", but I wouldn't call her role "minor".
Axies the Collector is most certainly my favorite interlude character. Of the others that come and go, I liked Gaz (rather, I disliked him intensely, but I enjoyed his scenes and his character) and I like both of Dalinar's sons and the ways they contrast.
And Wit, of course. Though again... minor character?
-
I really like Kaladin's parents, especially his mother. Lirin is interesting and gave Kaladin a lot of his morals and know-how, but Hesina is just awesome. The scene where she climbs up on the roof with them in the rain said so much about her character. She is quirky and there is definitely a lot about her that we don't know. I hope we learn a little more about her past (I have a feeling it's an interesting one) in the next book.
-
I'm a big fan of Rock, myself.
-
Axies the Collector wins the interludes. Brandon was really having fun with that scene. It leaves more questions than answers, of course, but would we really want it any other way?

Hey, I was following the criteria of the OP, which was any character that is not a POV character (or Hoid). :P
-
Minor characters aren't minor or they would be characters not minor characters. They are only minor in relation to major characters who are PoVs. However that argument is immaterial because everyone knows Rock is clearly superior :P.
-
And Wit, of course. Though again... minor character?
I didn't include Wit as a minor character mainly because he is Hoid who firstly is strictly a character of all Brandon's books (making him the most major character of all) and secondly because we just assume his awesome anyway so there is no point discussing it anyway ;).
Syl though is definitely on the edge. I had to rule a line, and unfortunately Syl fell on the wrong side of the line. But she definitely is important. Maybe more important than Kaladin!
-
I have to say for me it is Teft. Although I am not sure he is a minor character. It is because there is a lot to him. His past in the military, his upbringing with parents who longed for the Radiants return. ;D

The ardents Geranid and Ashir, for making a systematic study of spren while the rest of the world overlooks them as a mere curiosity.

I agree. Especially when they use of maths and statistics to create theories. I love it! ;D
-
I really liked Renarin, though now that he has shardplate I doubt he will really be a minor character for long
-
I really liked Parlin and wish we got more of him. Instead, he sorta disappeared once he started getting the hots for Jewels or whatever her name was. Hey, you didn't specify Way of Kings. :P
::Likely accidental spoilers ahead.::
I liked Sigzil a lot. Really liking most of the survivors of Bridge Four, actually. I think it's worth noting that they're all similar to Kaladin in a way: they've all hit rock bottom HARD. Kal's just the only story we saw.
Renarin's gonna die and cause Dalinar 2 books of emotional turmoil.

why do you say that? did brandon say that and i missed it? :o
-
Oh heavens no. I don't even believe that, myself.
I just thought it'd be funny if we take this weak character and set him up to be awesome !!! ... but he's still a weak kid with no training and he immediately dies. And, of course, now that Dalinar is sure of himself and his only problems are external ones, the death of his son would provide an excuse to slow down his awesome bla bla bla. Just musings of the structure of literature.
-
Baxin's mistress for me. I like her nonchalance and determinism.
-
Renarin is definitely my favorite minor character. Rock is a close second. For the Interludes, I loved Axies. I hope he shows up again.
-
Seems to me like a lot of Kaladin's bridge crew has a few mysteries in their past, Teft with his Knight Radiant worship, Moash with his vengeance, maybe even Rock with his bow mastery.
Axies was a fun interlude character. I'd say he was my favorite minor character so far, but Renardin seems like he could end up being interesting.
-
All of the Heralds except Taln, anyone who is willing to leave a colleague to an eternity of barbaric torture has my vote.

Yes, SYL! :D I love Syl. She is my most favorite character ever!
-
Axies the Collector was by far my favorite character, outside of the main ones. Though I really did enjoy Kaladin's mother, and I very much disliked his father.. I guess dislike is a strong word, I just felt he was too much of a stereotypical character, other than the fact that he stole the spheres. I'm pretty convinced at one point Kaladin will be reunited, even if he doesn't want to be, with his parents.
-
The most memorable interlude for me was actually the fisherman (though I don't remember his name), with their carefree lifestyle and the girl that wanted to marry him. I loved reading about all the different cultures of Roshar that we'll hopefully see more of in the sequels.
-
1. Syl. How could you *not* love Syl?
2. Rock. Chull dung stew!
3. Navani. The fabrial-making, butt-kicking mother of the king.
-
If you count her as a minor character then unquestionably Jasnah. She is my favourite character from any of the Sanderson books.
-
I vote for Teft, all the way!! Sigzil's past strikes me as the most potentially-fascinating, though.
-
Jasnah will definitely get a focus book, so I'm not sure if I'd count her.
-
I have to go with Lopen. I'm not sure if Brandon gave a thorough physical description, but even if he did, my mental image of Lopen is a one-armed Cheech Marin.
-

Navani. The fabrial-making, butt-kicking mother of the king. (@ryos had to keep that refernce! ) though I think she may be one of those Like Jasnah, who I also liked that is not quite minor.
Geranid and Ashir scientific study of magical spirits - very cool!
Axies - just fun awesomness
Ishakk Would love to learn what this society and person is really about.
-
I really love Tien. It's too bad that he has already died by the beginning of the book. *Sigh*

Don't worry. I have a feeling we may see more of him. ;)
-
I love the entire Bridge Four crew as a group. We had better see a lot more of them. :D
Axies was also awesome. ...And am I the only one who saw him as a kind of Rosharian Pokemon trainer? ^^; (Gotta catch 'em all...)
-
Heh, maybe that will be Renarin's secret power. Since he's took sickly to fight himself... "Go, Rotspren!"
-
I liked Rsyn the merchant girl, or maybe I just liked the phrase "drooling, wall-staring imbecile grass."
Also liked Rock and his manure stew, and Lopen, and Teft. Also Jasnah.
-
I liked that one character who did that thing. That was so cool!
No, seriously. I liked the dock hand who helped buy books. He seemed like a super street-smart kid with a lot of heart.

That would be Yalb. And yes, he was awesome. :D

Thank you. I couldn't remember his name and I didn't have my copy of the book at hand to look it up. I hope we see more of him in later books.

I think he'll become another knights radiant. No evidence, just a feeling...

I like Baxil and his mistress. Their interlude is my favorite. There's just something about random chaos that brightens my day. ;D

Ah, but that interlude was almost certainly anything but random! There have been some very shrewd guesses as to her identity, and I for one am pretty certain the most obvious one is correct.
