Gollum's rant on MTV
« on: June 08, 2003, 10:37:02 PM »
For those of you who missed Gollum's rant on MTV after winning for best visual effect, all I have to say is that you missed what is perhaps the greatest thing ever shown on television.

I should get with it and actually sign up with that Kazaa-thingy, then.  The problem is, my apathy for downloading (fueled by a 56k connection) has developed tremendous inertia.  Oh well, it's the life I've chosen.

The skit comedy of the MTV Movie Awards always draws me back.  Gollum was hilarious.  I think it ranks #2 on my list of great MTV send ups, right behind Ben Stiller as Tom Cruze, Tom Cruise's stunt double and Lisa Kudrow in front of the Jedi Concil.

Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson at the 2002 Oscars was pretty great, too.  Ben Stiller makes a great dwarf.

Wow, goes to show you how much attention I give award shows. I shouldn't be one to talk, what with wanting to get into the acting biz and all, but still. I generally dislike such flamboyant displays of general redundancy. And post-hastedness can factor into anything that I'll finish this up with.

I noticed the other day that Owen Wilson and Ben Stiller are doing a movie version of "Starsky and Hutch," complete with bad 70s fashions and enormous cars. I think it looks hilarious.

The Wilson and Stiller team is awesome.  I'm a big fan of both and so far I've enjoyed the movies they've made together.  I have high hopes for Starsky and Hutch.

Ok, I don't want to be the bad guy, but what about Zoolander? That movie was...well bad. It had Stiller(both of them) and Wilson in it, that didn't make it any better.

Sorry, I like Zoolander.  It's goofy and its fun, which I am frequently in the mood for.

Gotta say, I did laugh at Zoolander.  Though I was often disgusted by it too.

Ya, but I didn't laugh really. I was just a bit disgusted.

Oh man, that ruled.

I downloaded it off Kazaa. Smegging brilliant. Seeing Gollum badmouth everyone under the sun was hilarious.

Kinda related - anyone watch "Punk'd", MTVs show where they pull pranks on stars? The one where they convinve justin timberlake that his house is being auctioned to pay off 900k tax debts was class.
