A letter home from one of the US troops in Iraq. Well worth a read, IMO.

Wow! Using a bunch of Joules to shrink coins. Very cool pictures.

All Saiyuki fans should check out Dazzle! Emotionally wrenching action-adventure and quirky humor! (At least read chapter 6 and tell me if you're not hooked.) Volume 10 out now!

i got a couple links this morning.

First we got some yarr for ye. cool pirate themed pottery, mugs, shot glasses, etc. Great stuff. the other types of things (linked at the top of the page) are also interesting, but the only one that really comes close to the piratey stuff is the asian stuff.

Next up, plants and architecture digitally rendered based on ASCII strings provided by spam. I personally find the plants much less fascinating than the "architecture." My favorite

I'm not one for rap music, but I do love the Queen. So, I've been trying this out. It's interesting, and I think I like it.

This exact thing happened to me when I was carving my pumpkin this year.

This is a fairly cool video. From Gnarls Barkley, one of my favorite artists that have recently come out. Transformer fans will get a kick out of this.

The creator does loop the song twice, so you get the same song twice.

Love the blue Screen of Death? Well now you can get your very own screen saver from Microsoft
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysinternals/Miscellaneous/BlueScreen.mspx

Quote
One of the most feared colors in the NT world is blue. The infamous Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) will pop up on an NT system whenever something has gone terribly wrong. Bluescreen is a screen saver that not only authentically mimics a BSOD, but will simulate startup screens seen during a system boot.

But don't expect to be able to download it if you use McAfee.

Quote
McAfee, for one, is actively preventing users from downloading the software. The company's security research team told ZDNet UK this week: "This is not a false positive. We are intentionally detecting this as Joke.Bluescreen.c, as it's meant to scare people."

Screw it, I'm buying crayons and paper. I can imagineer my own adventures! Wheeee!
