Title: The tragedy of me!~
Post by: Miyabi on March 02, 2009, 06:53:13 AM
If I had a Smedry talent it would be to lose things.  I have once again lost my jump drive. >>

I am not sure how I do it so often. ha ha.

Anyway, I'll find it in the next few days and get posted.

xD

In the mean time I will try to get some other stuff read.

You should get a little pager or something installed on it. :P

We could surgically implant it into one of your apendages...?

You might not enjoy it, but it would be a hoot for those of us on the surgical team!

You might have a hard time actually, you know, getting it into a USB port from there.

Just thinking...

That's weird because I keep everything I've ever written on one jump drive and I've never lost it. It's probably because I'm hyper protective of all my vast secrets and hidden knowledge.  ::)

Heh I only loose other peoples' stuff, and then, only when they want it back...

Use Google Documents (http://docs.google.com).  You won't loose the entire google world-wide network in your laundry pile.

Or a diskette.  Course I lost a story once.  But only once, after that I made sure I had everything in triplicate.  My wife had "put it away" and I searched around frantically for about a week.  So I guess no procedure is perfect.  Oh well...

Keeping everything in one place is just asking for trouble. Keeping it all on a single USB flash drive is BEGGING for it.

Please, the heathen gods of Nerdhood implore you to back up your stuff.

That's what I use my flash drive for.

I don't have a flash drive. Or any of the other stuff you've mentioned. It's a new policy of mine–if you don't wanna lose something, then don't buy it. Works great.

 :D :D :D

I almost lost my flash drive a couple weeks ago. I went snow tubing, and I had two sets of keys on me. One with the house key and my flash drive. The other with the car keys. I actually lost both, but I didn't realize it until someone brought over my flash drive set....We never did find the car keys....

Anyway. I NEVER keep my stuff in just one place. I may have the most updated version on my flash drive or my computer, but I tend to back everything up on not only those 2, but also on the "kids computer" at home (we have two computers--my dad's and the kids (even though we're not technically kids anymore since the youngest are both 18, almost 19..))...It would take some serious bad luck for me to lose everything I've written....

I would call it sledding, but we weren't using sleds; we were using tubes. So basically, it was taking tubes down a snowy hillside. In this case, we went to a ski resort about 45 minutes from where I live. There's a decent sized hill behind the lodge, and so we took the tubes up it, sat down (or laid down, whatever) and then flew down one of the three tracks....It was super-fun....

Yeah sounds like it. Having snowball fights while sledding is fun, too.

Oh, trust me, if you tried to throw a snowball while going down THESE tubes, you would've fallen off. Hard. It was a fairly steep hill. With a jump. I almost fell off when I was holding with both hands...

There was this kid (on the ski trip) who fell off before they started. Lol.
