Title: Spell Check
Post by: The Holy Saint, Grand High Poobah, Master of Monkeys, Ehlers on February 24, 2004, 10:32:16 PM
heh, you can overload spell check in MS Office. Basically it admits you're too crappy a speller and it can't show you all the errors anymore.

I found this out not because I'm a crappy speller, but because I was using it to review some IM logs. Apparently, it doesn't like "SaintEhlers" or "AIMKije" as words, or the other abbreviations or misspells from hasty chat.

Heh.  Every time I try and spellcheck one of my books--you know, one of the 300,000 word beasts I write--MS Word nearly blows a fuse.

Heh.  I'm sure my editor has fun with some of the errors he runs across.

One of my favorite errors was one that the person's spell check didn't catch--instead of having traditional peasant garb, the person was described as wearing "traditional pheasant garb."

A very easy mistake, and also very amusing. :)

Hmmmm...

Pheasants running around with too many piercings and Sex Pistols T-Shirts sold to them for $25 at Hot Topic... I could see it happening.

I was thinking more along the lines of "phunk rock pheasant garb."

Rants also does not mean "heap personal abuse on people for no reason."

Get some Zoloft, eh?
