Brandon Sanderson / Re: Mistborn as a Video Game

I think RTS would work well.  One of the buildings would be a beating house where you sent people to try and snap them like the nobles do.  That would probably be a little dark for a game though.

I don't think it will be dozens of POVs and 20 magic systems in the first book. I think this is the series as a whole.

True but is each book going to be neatly tied up at then end or are the story lines going to continue through the books.  From his current books I expect arks to get tied up more then they do in WoT but the major story arks will probably span through most of the books.

Even though I am one of the WOT fans he is talking about.  I am glad that he is taking the time to do his own books as well.  I would hate to see him get burned out on doing WOT and he needs to worry about his own fan base as well.  I will definitely be picking up WoK when it comes out too.  People think keeping track of WoT plot lines was confusing. Now I have to keep track of 20 different magic systems and dozens of POVs.  This will definitely have a lot of discussion points on the forums.

Vin is very well done.  They sky could be more hazy or have ash falling.  I believe at the point in the story when this scene takes place there is always ash falling.

Congrats. I guess I will have to read some of the other books on the list.  Mainly the last couple books for the runelord series and Ender in Exile.

Okay I looked it up and you can make green, yellow, red, and blue dyes from metal and acid.  With the society being based on metal I would expect that they are proficient in mixing metals so could make dyes out of them.  If the dyes are being made from metal I would expect only the rich to have them.  Metal is far to important in the society for the poor to be using it for dyes.

I don't really remember what the colors were in the book but I am guessing that color choices were rather limited.  Their was not allot of things to make dyes out of with most of the plant life dead.  I would say limited to mostly white, brown, black, and red.  Not sure what you could use to make blues, greens, and yellows.

As far as I know there are only 2 continents.  The one the Seanchan are on and the main continent.  The Sea People do not sail across the ocean because it is to vast so are unaware of the fact that there is another continent.  That would mean only the Seachan should have a name for the continents.  If there is only one continent, as most would believe, I would not expect them to name it.

I read it online and was very impressed.  I am sure I will purchase it at some point but I can not do that right now.  My budget is shot and I need to get it under control before I can buy anything.  That may mean that I do not end up with a hard cover of this book and I normally only buy hard covers.  Then again my book club does stock Brandon so I can order the hardcover through them for 15.

Im with Miyabi on the skin tone.  I always pictured him as an albino Gandhi in my head, except taller.  With the lack of direct sunlight I expect most people to have a lighter skin tone but with it emphasized on Saze.

I am in the middle of my reread and just went through a part that gives some credit to the theory that all people are reborn.   The scene is with Hopper and Perrin when Perrin is talking to him about Hopper being dead.   Hopper states that all brothers and sisters that are,  have been, and will be exist in the dream world.  If we take there long memories of running with humans we can say that it applies to humans as well because they were at one point the brothers and sisters of wolves.

57
I really like the idea of the wolf.  It would explain why the dream world is not crawling with wolves if they could be reborn into people.  I doubt that everyone who is born is a reborn soul though.   If this was the case the population would have to be stable.  I don't think that Mat is reborn from anyone.   I do think that both Mat and Perrin will later be tied to the wheel.  I would like it to happen to Hurrin as well because Arthur Hawkwing hinted to him that it was possible

I'm glad you are enjoying the books.   I am doing my reread and am just finishing The Great Hunt.  Only 40 pages left.  I stopped last night right after Rand killed the Seanchan lord in a sword fight.   It amazes me that he can beat a true swordmaster after less then a year of having a sword.  The void isn't specific to men who can channel so most swordmasters probably use it.   This was also the part were we learn all sul'dam can be leashed.  I can't wait to get home and read about the battle in the sky.

Random stuff is fine :D.  I would rather that the vision thing was not a similarity between all the shards.  I also dint know how that would work in with elantris as there is no physical object involved.  It does kind of make sense for warbreaker though.   We see what happens when you have a ton of breaths and it becomes hard to see the person wielding them due to the aura of color they put off.

And all the knives will be made of obsidian rather then metal.
