Good one Geek girl.  I am reminded of the old viking proverb, "Fortune favors the bold."

"a little risk, a little adventure," are all that can lead to "a little payoff"

Rock on.
"Skar is the kind of bird who, when you try to kill him with a stone, uses it, and the other bird, to take vengeance on you in a swirling melee of death."

See, this is what I was saying before - Role Model, this is total role model material. And very good advice.
And with that... May your days be bright and your contact with stupidity limited...

The entire article was good, but am I shallow for liking the reference to Tank Girl best?

Thanks for this, Fish. There are many people who need to hear this (especially ones who are all kinds of exhausted from the simple act of coping).

Well I got lost so many times
But I could not be consigned
To a fate of obsolescence and decline
So I'll take the chance again
And the Mockingbird is my friend
When he sings a song in the warm midnight wind
So I'll follow my old tune
And I'll wish you good morning
Its an automated robot. Based on Science!

I'm not pretending to know, but are you sure that proverb is Scandinavian in origin, Skar?  It shows up in one of my dictionary appedices as being a Latin phrase (fortuna audentes juvat).  It's really not a big deal...I'm just curious if you have better information than I.  I like cool old Latin phrases.

What's really important is that it's a song in AIDA, more or less.   ;D

In order that the world may retain a slight bit of coolness, I do my best to ignore that fact.   :)

"Lady Luck is golden. She favors the bold." - Rush

Anyway, Tank Girl is first and foremost a comic. A very excellent comic. THe movie can be safely ignored.

Oh heavens no.  I'm of Scandinavian descent so I attributed a phrase I liked but didn't know the origin of to my ancestors.  Also, I think one of the vikings in "13th Warrior" said something like it so...
