Title: Starship Troopers
Post by: JP Dogberry on May 23, 2005, 07:52:18 AM
I've seen this in my local Games Store a few times, and it looks really cool. I've been thinking about getting into a minitures game for a while, actually, because modelling and painting looks sort of fun. This game is relatively cheap, made by Mongoose who do good stuff, and yeah. I hear a bunch of people have been buying it, which means I might even be able to find people to play with.

Anyone know anything more about it? Care to recommend or discourgae my purchase of it?

All I know is they're from Mongoose who's Babalon 5 miniatures seem to be selling well.

It would be nice to try their minis games out.

I broke down and bought it with money I didn't have, alongside a bunch of brushes, glue, paints, and stuff.

I'll let you know with a review and further posts once I get home, open it and start actually reading the thing.

People on RPGnet are raving about it.  Rumor has it that it's based on Andy Chamber's ruleset for what was going to be 40K 3rd edition, but was too much of a change.

It's supposed to play very nicely.  There's a review up somewhere that was good, I just don't know where I read it...

I think one might be up at dakkadakka.

Someone needs to give me some Babylon 5 miniatures. I could do good things to those models, starting with a paintjob that didn't look like a chimpanzee was in charge.
