Title: Tracking Sales
Post by: Firemeboy on June 21, 2005, 04:46:14 PM
HOM, did you ever find any easy way to track sales?  I've been tracking DB, but that is just depressing.  I keep telling myself it's because they are all back in the 'fiction' area, and not all over the store like at Seagull...

Any ideas?  Any experience?

The easiest way is to get in the good graces of Seagull employees, and then ask them to check.  They keep a running total for all titles sold at each store.  However, not many stores will tell you.  I have a few friends that have looked it up for me, but it's not common.

The best way, though, is to email Robby Nichols.  Do you have his email address?

How did this weekend's signings go?

I sold a boat load, as long as your boat is one of those boats in the glass gallon jug things.  :)  I sold about 7.

I thought about e-mailing Robby, but I didn't want to appear anxious, even though that is exactly what I am.  Plus I'm jumping the gun.  There was no advertisement, I'm a first time author, there have been no reviews, so I can't expect much.  My numbers are based purely on cover art and friends buying it, and since I use a pen name, the second group is probably smaller than it should be.

Anyway, I'll keep tracking DB numbers.
