Oh, wait, nevermind. ;)

LOL
I take it you saw BS's facebook post that the book has been named?
-
That's quite the sword. I especially like the eye holes so you don't lose sight of your enemy when you salute each other. I'm sure it also comes in handy for spur-of-the-moment masques.
I bet he's pissed because his riding sheath wasn't constructed properly. I mean, who wants to hold a sword like that while they're riding?
I see he's using neck rings to increase his line of sight on the battlefield. Good move, buddy. Another good move? Riding nonchalantly at the base of an exploding volcano. If I'm not mistaken, this guy is smirking. He must know something we don't.
Feather dusters are stylish.
That is all.

I'll admit it, I laughed. :)
-
I laughed. A lot.
-
:D Awesome. That is 100% win!
-
I shouldn't eat and look at TWG, I nearly ruined a perfectly good keyboard. Thanks for the laugh.

The actual title for Book 13 is Towers of Midnight. I like this title a lot. If you consider this a trilogy, it has a nice dynamic: The Gathering Storm-setup, Towers of Midnight-evokes darkness, and A Memory of Light-evokes light. Very cool.

Got a source for that info? That is indeed a very nice title, assuming it actually has anything to do with the story, haha.

It's in Brandon's latest blog post on brandonsanderson.com.

Awesome, just found it a few minutes ago.

So... Towers....
we've got the Black and White Towers, the topless towers of Cairhein, the tower of Ghenjei, and the seven towers of Malkier.
anyone thinking it's Malkier?
-
Personally, I think that tCSoWHiCtRWaSaHP is a much better title than either tGS, ToM, or AMoL.

I also read that some people are thinking that its about the Seanchan, apparently they have towers too, thirteen of them actually. As far as Malkier, I think there's hints of Lan's kingdom being reborn in the recently released prologue.

Really? I read the prologue and didn't notice that.

I am avoiding the prologue and chapter one until the book actually comes out
actually, now that you mention it, I do remember something about the tower of ravens or something like that out in the seanchan empire...
-
Wasn't Mat headed to some tower to try to save Moiraine? Could that mean that this book has that plot line?
-
There's also the "black" towers inside the blight, too. :)
-
Well, at least three towers are heading for action:
- the Seanchan attack on the White Tower (Egwene's dream)
- the Black Tower rendered in blood (Elaida's foretelling)
- escape of Moiraine through the Tower of Genghei
Dunno about the towers of Malkier, but I did wonder if the forsaken meeting from the prologue was located at ole Malkier...
Tower of Ravens - I don't think so. IIRC RJ said all Seanchan homeland and Shara action will be off screen.
So my guess is, any of the three plotlines above which don't get resolved in TGS will be in ToM. And the attack on the White Tower might well happen in TGS, since it's hard to believe it will happen after Rand's truce with the Seanchan.

Graendal says it's in the northeastern blight, so no dice on it being at Malkier
-
Isn't the Black Tower more a metaphorical tower... not a physical construct? I thought it was named such because it was created as a counterpoint to the White Tower, not because there was an actual tower where the Asha'man were training.
-
There isn't one yet. There will be though.
@ Jakobus: How does being in the northeastern blight rule out Malkier? Malkier was in what is now the northeastern blight, was it not?
-
I would have thought Malkier would have been the far SOUTHEast blight. It was about as far south as the blight had managed to come.

Yes, if you look at the maps provided at the front of every WoT book, that is where it shows Malkier's former borders.
-
Malkier is near Tarwin's Gap. The Forsaken met with Moridin at an old fortress in the north eastern Blight. That's how it rules it out
-
Makes sense. I was just kind of picturing the entire blight as being north, and then Malkier would be the east part. But looking at it, you're right.
-
I'm re-reading the whole series, and currently finishing up The Great Hunt. One of the Seanchan High Lords specifically mentioned the "Towers of Midnight", though not with enough context to really glean anything about them. It caught my eye. ;)
Edit:
I don't think so. IIRC RJ said all Seanchan homeland and Shara action will be off screen.
I specifically recall at least a few scenes being set in Seanchan. Was that in book 8? It's been so long. 11 years, you know. I guess I'll find out in a few months when I get that far in my reread.

There was that one time when Avi accidentally Travelled, but I think that was it.
-
That was book 5 i think....
-
That was book 5 i think....
Indeed!
and now that you mention it I do recall the Seanchan saying something about the Towers of Midnight.
The attack against the White Tower perhaps? And maybe Mat will be leading them :D
-
Chaos, this is awesome! Thanks for the thorough laugh. ;D

Isn't one of the Seanchan prophecies that the Dragon must kneel to the Crystal throne?
-
Isn't one of the Seanchan prophecies that the Dragon must kneel to the Crystal throne?
That was presumably one of the corruptions that Ishamael introduced to their prophecies, which are based off of the same books of prophecies that are found in the Westlands.

Given that Rand is demanding to meet with Tuon and only Tuon, it could well become true in some form regardless.

Watch it will end up being something lame like him kissing her hand b/c of her height and him being a monster he goes to a knee.
