this was submitted as an article, and since it's going to get deleated I'm moveing it over here.

you are wrong about the "whole Nine yards"

The term "the Whole Nine Yards" is actually a refference to the 9 yard great kilt worn by scotsman. The kilt is made of 9 yards of 40" wide tartan. the saying refers to when a scotsman went into battle he gave his all including the 9 yards of his kilt, thus, the saying he got the whole 9 yards. the bases you make note of about ww2 as the source of the term is incorrect as the term has been used since around the end of the 11th century and was coined by english soldiers under the rulership of King Edward " longshanks", and has become the universal teerm meaning that one is giving his all. Also in the format you use you are inplying that the belst of ammunition used in aircraft was 9 yards long, that is also incorrect the standard legth of a belt of 50 cal. ammo was infact only 15 feet long.

So in other words, he's talking smack to you Mustard.
Screw it, I'm buying crayons and paper. I can imagineer my own adventures! Wheeee!
