Forum CYOA
« on: February 26, 2009, 04:26:04 AM »
I'm bored, so I figured I would start up a forum Choose Your Own Adventure. For those who don't know, I'm basically going to present a situation, and take suggestions from everyone, and do things based on those suggestions! I don't know how much time I'll have to update, but I'm gonna try to update about once a week or so, so keep the suggestions rolling until I get a chance to get around to it. If for whatever reason, you feel I update to slow, and you have the gumption, feel free to make your own parts of the story, and I'll move on from there. I'll try to keep it going until everyone loses interest, but it should hopefully provide a bit of a distraction!

Note that I won't use EVERY suggestion, just the ones that catch my interest and are easiest to do!

Simple example of how it works:

Me: I find myself standing in a room, with 1 window and two doors to the north and south. What should I do?

Poster: Open the window and climb out

Me: Opens the window and climbs out.

so here goes.....

So one day I'm sitting at home,

When suddenly, I became bored with life!!

So I decided to become a super hero!

Unsure of what powers I really possess, I head to the rooftops to look for trouble, when suddenly....

A CRY FOR HELP!!

Ever vigilant and ready for action, I.....

Help guys! What do I do!?

Firstly, I love the pictures.  They are amazing.

Thank you! Obviously I'm gonna wait for a few more suggestions before doing any update but i just wanted to say thanks.

I suppose I'll take this time to insert a shameless plug, but I run a couple of small web comics on my website (in my signature) utilizing this sort of pixel artwork (the character there was taken from that).

Edit: Oh what the heck. I'm feeling motivated at the moment.

Aaaaannnnnd......EXPAND!!!

....

It would seem I don't have the power to expand my body....

Ok, what now?

Starting in the hole you conveniently made, you tunnel toward the sound of the cry for help.
All Saiyuki fans should check out Dazzle! Emotionally wrenching action-adventure and quirky humor! (At least read chapter 6 and tell me if you're not hooked.) Volume 10 out now!

What the..?! There appears to be a tunnel down here! Guess they were expecting me! They who, I don't know.

Time to see where this goes.

THAT is the biggest gopher hole I've ever seen...

There appears to be something on the ground under that sign I obviously don't have time to read.

My choices from here seem to be to go in here, or go around to the handicap entrance (though what difficulties a large opening presents to those with disabilities, I'm unsure.)

What should I do now?

Edit: It's worth noting that I don't just take the first suggestion. Everyone is free to submit a suggestion until i do the next update, and I'll choose which I wanna do.

Pick up a convenient object and throw it through the door as far as you can to see what happens to it.

Read the sign, then ask: "Well who put this here? Those vandals." Then walk through the door.

On your way to the handicap ramp, pick up the object.

Call an annoying friend and make him go in first.

sorry I haven't updated yet this week, guys! I probably won't be able to this week, I've been busy with planning and coordinating for a trip out of town. I leave tonight, and return next wednesday, so I won't have time to get around to it yet. In case anyone's wondering, I'm going out of town for my 1 year anniversary :)
