I think that deserves a T-Shirt? Or maybe a nice big button, suitable for convention wear?
So Pi (on his way to or at our favorite habitat) calls Thurl for advice, and learns that the proper answer to the question "What would Schlock do?" depends on just how much firepower one is packing? What do you suppose will happen?
Fireworks at Credomar? Video at 11?

For a person of Howard's religious persuasion WWSD might have a different connotation...

I am so making a flair on facebook for this....It's perfect.
-
I'm familiar with a different WWSD.

Scooby Doo? Sigh! leave it to the manga guy....
-
Hey, relating Scooby Doo to manga is rather insulting to manga.
-
I second the T-shirt idea. As a fandom in joke, it would work wonders.
P.S. I've finally run into someone who also knows Schlock Mercenary. I think they quoted one of the "7" rules.
-
So....how many of what would Schlock eat in one sitting? That is the question....
-
Several questions here:
1. Just who in Tagon's group (they went to the mall, right?) is Thurl talking to?
2. And who or what are they facing, that they should have been armed at least with a holdout?
3. What could one possibly eat at one sitting that would obviate the need for armament?
4. And just how many of them can whoever this is eat?
My guess as to how many Schlock could eat -- more than anyone would believe. And then some.
Tune in tomorrow... when we probably won't get the answer to any of these questions, either. Or maybe we will -- Sunday gives us the BIG picture, right?

I'm really liking this WWSD theme. Highly comical. The "WW(X)D" thing is getting a bit overdone in general, but in Schlock's case it's still working great.
For mbarker's questions...
1. We don't know (of course) but it doesn't sound like any of the officers.
2. mmmyyyYYYSSTTEEeerrryyy....
3. Your enemy, or course.
4. None. Schlock's most potent natural weapon is his digestive system, so, deprived of armament, he'd probably start eating. Thurl was being facetious.

Having read only one issue, I can't say I know anything about Shlock. But that was evocative. Given there are two ends to a digestive system I was wondering what other form this mighty weapon might take.
-
Oh dear. I'm starting to think that we're never going to find out what's happening. The best jokes are the ones we never see in person.
And what is Schlock doing, exactly? I'm bet were going to get dropped in the middle of something fairly ridiculous.

Given there are two ends to a digestive system
Actually, go back to nearly the start of the strip when Schlock was getting his physical, and you'll find comments about his system being a one-holer.
-
So now we've had three people ask what Schlock would do.
Any bets as to what Schlock will have done when we catch up with him?
-
Not just three people, but three people in three different commands. And as you correctly point out, the group that we haven't heard from isn't saying, "What would Schlock do?" They're saying, "What did Schlock do!"
Although I have to admit, I hope we get to see more of what all of the commands are up to. This secondhand rumor stuff is fun for a little bit, but I like my up-close-and-personal comic strip action, too. Or as the pundits put it, "Show, don't tell."
-
In a recent podcast interview, Howard said we'd get a sequence of strips (similar to this one) for each command, covering the same time period.
-
I don't know. He's got that ticking clock counting down, the lurking mysterious threat, and we're going to get all the poop on what the other commands have been up to? What would Schlock do...er, what does Howard know about it, he's just the author/artist? ;D
-
I SO want a shirt that says "What Would Schlock Do?" and has Schlock's moral compass on it. That would rock.
Also, based on Schlock's twitter (http://twitter.com/Schlock) looks like he ate it. :o
