Title: World War 2 Theme Week
Post by: Fellfrosch on May 23, 2005, 12:41:40 PM
The week of June 6 we'd like to do a WW2 theme, with at least one (I'm open to more) review/article/adventure per day. You can even review old games we haven't covered yet--it doesn't have to be new, just WW2-related. If you'd like to contribute, please let us know.

Count me in--if that's okay. I've never written a published review, per se. But if I sent in a sample and you guys liked it, maybe I could review the Saints & Soldiers movie? I think it's one of the finest examples of "Mormon cinema."  Unless someone else has first dibs on that . . . .

I'd have to think of something to review. Last year's was a pretty big success. I think we had two new and two old articles posted every day. I'm out of ideas for what to review.

Fine with me, Ellie, just make sure to send it in early so I have time to edit and request changes if necessary.

Those looking for new stuff to review: there have been four or five new WW2 FPS games in the last year, or you could do an old movie we've never reviewed, or you could do an adventure similar to 42's Civil War thing (any system, as long as it works). I'm also going to try to do an interview about the new minis game from Avalon Hill, which Spriggan suggested and which I think is a wonderful idea.

I will consider reviewing "Gods and Monsters" or else writing out my M&M variation on the Time and Crisis Adventure.

Assuming alternate history "Germany won WWII" counts.

You'd better believe it does. So does "alternate history  Mexico won," but you rarely ever see that.

Great. Thanks Fell. I'm buying the DVd when it comes out on the 31st. I want to watch it again before I write about it. But I'll send you the review that week.

Humm..I wasn't planning on a WW2 week, just a day.  Though this topic is allwayse popular enough to squeese out enough reviews.

I don't have any WW2 releated material to review but I'll see if I cannot come up with something.

Just a reminder we've got one week till this starts!

The only articlesI know about is the D-Day game and the movie review (that's still going to happen right?).

So we need at least 3 more articles, 2 if SE writes us something.  Are we going to poke Mustard to get him to write his yearly article for the site?  WW2 isn't something I've ever been that intrested in so this is a tough one for me to write something for but I could find something to talk about if needs be.

Sadly, I'm writing the review of A&A D-Day and I'll be hard pressed to get that done, let alone another article.  I only have a week before I send out my next manuscript for critique, so it's crunch time.

(However, if Fell wrote the D-Day review, I could probably come up with a different WWII article.  I don't know what.  I'm happy to do either.)

i'm not overly surprised. We did, after all, run 10 articles just 6 months ago on the subject.
