Mars Attacks

I just rewatched the movie and forgot how hysterical it was.
Jack Nicholson as the president got me laughing and I just couldnt stop.

oh man. <supresses giggle>
If ever there was a guilty watching pleasure, Mars Attacks! was it. I rolled on the floor at a dozen points.
Even if the resolution was stolen from Attack of the Killer Tomatoes.

the whole movie was stolen, but that was part of the fun...
I loved that the only surviving complete band at the end was a Mariachi band.

I love the Martians blasting people as the microphones they have keep broadcasting "Do not run" ZAP "We are your friends!" ZAP
I love Tom Jones, and all the wonderful Cameos.

It's worth watching, if only for the final Tom Jones scene.  I laugh out loud just thinking about it.

That's not unusual.

AHH! When I first saw that movie, I was like eight, and it scared the crud outta me! I rewatched it when I was about 12 though, and it didn't affect me that much. Anyone seen Signs, another alien related movie? No matter what anyone says about it being scary or not, that movie gave me the creeps.

M. Night Shyamalan did a remarkably effective job at making the whole thing creepy without resorting to any of the typical scary things you see in movies. There were a couple things the plot relied on I found were either trite or not believable, but it was an excellently directed movie.

Are you guys talking about Signs, or Mars Attacks? I'm assuming Signs. Yeah, I liked that movie (in a freaky way). TFO is absolutely right about the fear of the unknown. When you only see a leg, a shadow, a hand, a noise, etc. of something unknown, we want to know what it is, it's part of human nature. But anyways, what really got me going with that movie was the eerie bell music they would play...

I didn't really like Signs. It was down-troddened for me. Now, Mars Attacks, that was a good movie. I liked it.

What about 'Unbreakable', Gemm?  I liked Signs ok, but Unbreakable is my favorite.
