I was thinking Fell might like this book. Considering, his, you know, proclivities.

I liked this book, but it had some serious structure issues. First it wanted to be the book about a serial killer which it did pretty admirably. But it also wanted to chronicle the fair. It didnt do that as well. University of chicago has a great website about the white city btw with an insane amount of photos.

Cool fair facts.

Nicolai Tesla built the fairs generators for westing house.

It was the first city lit by electric light.

Frederic law olmstead designed the grounds.

oh and the murder story.............. tres creepy

Not knowing ANYTHING about the fair before reading this book it's probably a decent introduction. A launching pad, if you will, to start one off learning about all the amazing things that happened because of the fair.
