This movie looks excellent, and I've never even heard of Ray Charles before. Heh...

Uhhhhhhhhhh...........

Disbelief aside, OSC gave it a rave review, said everyone should go see it twice.
All Saiyuki fans should check out Dazzle! Emotionally wrenching action-adventure and quirky humor! (At least read chapter 6 and tell me if you're not hooked.) Volume 10 out now!

Oh please.

Id rather you have heard of him than inSynch, or even Bruce Springstein.

Unless you are parodying Nsync, i've never heard of those two either.

I did an entire report on Ray Charles as a Final Exam project it was 30% of my gade and I really enjoyed...pplus I did well on the project ;D Anyway I saw the movie twice! It was awesome and so accurate! Its amazing how a blind person can learn to play the piano so well...but he wasn't always blind.

The movie was quite good.

Jamie Foxx, however, was brilliant.

Dude, he's from England I can see why he's never heard of either.  Sringstein is famous here, but hasn't been big overseas in years.  I don't think Ray Charles ever was well knowen in Europe.
Screw it, I'm buying crayons and paper. I can imagineer my own adventures! Wheeee!

Your Kidding right? Half of the whole British music scene sweeping the US in the 60's were repackaged covers of Big Bill Brunsey, Ray Charles and Chuck Barry songs... Heck the Beatles alone covered at least 5 of his songs....

The movie rocked my hair off. Made me want to listen to some his original stuff.  Any album suggestions from you dedicated fans out there?

Skar, if you can wait until my husband gets home from the hospital tomorrow, he'll have some rockin' choices. He's a hardcore Ray Charles fan.

Eric reccomends "Greatest Hits" Volume I and II (but these went out of print in the 80s so they're a little difficult to find). Otherwise, "The Ultimate Hits Collection."

Happy hunting, and don't let the backup-singer girls get you down.

I recommend nothing!
I find him interesting and talented, but I have not listened to him enough to make recommendations.

There's always "(The Night Time Is) The Right Time." If you've ever seen the Cosby Show, you should recognize this song.

Thanks for the recommendations.  Hopefully the movie will prompt a new release or two of things that went out of print...
