Title: casting call
Post by: The Holy Saint, Grand High Poobah, Master of Monkeys, Ehlers on May 13, 2005, 08:55:32 AM
so I had another one of my dreams last night. I've been having a lot of them.

However, last night was pretty harmless. I dreamt I was casting the next TMNT movie.

I decided to keep Corey Feldman as Donatello, because he rocks. And to make things fair, Corey Haim was the new Leonardo.
Because I was on a kick, I made Anthony Michael Hall the new Mikey. I'm not sure he could ever pull off the surfer thing, but may he could trade with Mr. Haim.
For Raph, I thought about John Cryer, just to be preserve the Brat Pack thing I had going on. But instead I chose Dennis Leary. Cryer's "angry" is really more of a "wounded pout" while Leary is always angry, thus suited for the role.
I decided I wanted to appeal to the girls too, so Brad Pitt will be starring as the next Casey Jones.

I was arguing with someone about Angelina Jolie or Jennifer Lopez being more fit for the part of April O'Neil. Not sure why those were the two names being discussed.
We didn't have any good ideas for the Shredder, though Jett Li and Jackie Chan both came up.

For baxter Stockman, the venerable Samuel L. Jackson was who I had in mind, though I hadn't discussed it with anyone. I also wanted Michael Clarke Duncan in the movie as something. Maybe a bruiser. Just cuz I think he's so cool.

I hadn't even touched Splinter, but maybe Pat Morita? Who knows.

Michael Clark Duncan and The Rock would make an awesome Rocksteady and Bebop.

see, I thought of that. But I'm more of an Eastman and Laird fan than a cartoon fan. I think, perhaps, they could be Tricerons (whatever they were called) or something. That would be cool.

and Frank Oz could be one of the TCRI aliens....

A TMNT based off the comics would rock. I like your casting call so far there SE. No go forth and get the movie made! :P
