Rochester eh? That's near my neck of the woods. I'm in Buffalo (actually a suburb off of other suburbs of the city) and ho-hum, I'd rather be glad to go somewhere else sometime.

That's cool, Gemm.  I actually am one of the rare few who actually didn't really WANT to go out of town.  I certainly wasn't planning on it, and I kinda wanted to stay in Rochester.  Obviously, it didn't have an effect on my decision, but it's kinda hard leaving.  I think it's a good thing I'm not getting much more than a week to prepare myself.  Church on Sunday is going to be hard.

Still though, I get a really great chance to start over.  It's going to be a helluva lot of fun.  Woohoo!  ;D

Yeah, I had some problems the last time I worked a help desk, but it was because I worked for an outsourcer.  This time, I'm working directly for a computer company.  There won't be another company pulling me in a third direction, yanking me off of one contract, on to another for a weekend, then back to the other one, then we lose that contract and all have to learn stuff from yet ANOTHER contract...  *shudder*

Not that I'm bitter about the experience or anything...

I think it's pretty funny that they had to tone it down, because the original swimsuit was too risque.  It's a videogame character, and it's on a pillow, fer chrissakes.  I'm pretty sure DOA Beach Volleyball was more risque than this!

Well, kinda both.

I've been lurking a lot, and haven't been posting.  If that's bad, I'm sorry.  If that's good, too bad.  I'm going to try posting more. :P

And the "I'm leaving" bit?  I just got a job working tech support for Apple.  I start next Friday.

Now I live in Rochester, NY.  I've lived here my whole life.  The problem is (if it could be called a problem) that the job is in Austin, TX.  I'm not just moving, I'm moving 1600 miles away. o_O

I'm still in shock about the whole thing.  I found out Monday that I got the job, and now I need to leave this Monday.  My father and I are going, taking 3 days to get there, Thursday to look around, and I'm starting Friday.  Yow.

Wish me luck!  ;D

You're right, Prometheus, about Munch Man.  Your little guy would leave behind a chainlink as he sped around the track, and ate little blinking Texases for the powerups.  It was like competitive fence-building.  The maze didn't change, but the enemies did, and they got faster the further you went.

Bonus question!  What level of Munch Man is my avatar from? ;D

I never knew those bits to be blood spots in Hunt the Wumpus.  They were just warnings that the Wumpus was nearby.  Turns out, according to my dad, that they were really called "blood spots".  Not that he ever let us get close to the manuals when we (my brother and I) were young... :)

I still say "Press Fire to begin" all the time... heh heh.  Parsec rules.

I never had Alpiner, but my cousins did.  We still fire that up just to hear all the stupid crap the guy says when he runs into a pine tree.  "Yuck"??

How'd you do on that game?  I would get to Everest, but I could never beat it.

Thanks Spriggan.  I wrote it between 1 and 2 in the morning one night when I couldn't sleep.

No question about The Simpsons not being the oldest or the best, it just was the one that stuck in my mind.  I never played the original Gauntlet... ;D

Hee hee.  I'm a published writer!!  Huzzah!

One of my mother's childhood friends had a son named Geoffrey Michael C**** (sorry, but you understand it's nothing personal; I don't have permission to use his name, after all).

When he was little, he wanted his initials shaved onto his head (this was a LONG time ago).  Then his parents realized that this little kid would have roared around with GMC printed on his head, charging right at someone.  He sure acted like a Jimmy, too... :)

Congrats to both of you, TFO and stacer!
