Title: Unwanted Pets
Post by: 42 on July 23, 2003, 11:32:16 PM
So last weekend a sparrow decided that it's home was the backseat of my car. I stayed there the as I went around town running errands and even when I filled up the backseat with stuff that I was moving. I left the windows rolled down, but the bird still didn't feel incline to leave. The bird caught the attention of a biker gang, who proceeded to adopt me into their gang for having made my car one with anature, or at least something alive. I decided to name the bird Clairence. I got to show him to my nieces whe were thrilled by him. But alas, Clairence flew off at the end of the day.

I almost feel like calling a Amber Alert for Clairence, but instead I think I will just have an existential crtisis over the whole thing.

Crisiseses I can handle. It's normal life that gives me problems.

So what's that picture you've got under your name, there, 42?

I'm looking at a muppet(one with down syndrome, not to offend anyone) eating a hamburger.

I'm not sure which way was front or back in that picture. I've often wondered. I'm glad Kije finally got the courage to ask.

It's a painting, called Monkey, by contemporary British artist, Gary Hume.

You uncultured heathens!

Actually I picked it because I was sure it would puzzle people. Now I might have to find a different work.

you pick an obscure BRITISH artist (whom I assume you think we should care about but we don't) and we're uncultured? OK, I can lie with that.

But on the note of images, what do you think of my icon? Is the filesize too big? (I just care about the bandwidth issue. I don't care if you like it or not, cuz I do. It's almost as funny as kilt-wearing monkeys. heheheh, monkeys...)

Um... I wouldn't call Gary Hume obscure. For people who care about the art world he's huge. Like in art history books huge.

And I don't mind the penguins, I just picture you as the sliding penguin.

So you're under the impression that we "care" about "art"... interesting

/me wonders how soon Jeff will be too enraged to respond...

Sorry, you're not included in the "people who care about art" catagory.

I don't think there is anyone on this board, excepting you 42, who "cares about the world of art.

wishes she knew how to insert actions

"/.me" without the dot.

And i've never heard of gary hume. Not surprising since art for me is something that goes between columns in RPG and tabletop books. I hated the Musee de Orsay (way bad spelling there), since i don't like impressionism. But i always looked at that picture as a turtle looking smug while preparing to eat some red grass.

Well since were only seeing the less obscure part of this painting, we can't really get a bigger perspective of what it actually is. Kind of like Spriggan's, but his could just be him misspelling something. :P
