Yessir. I'm leaving for upstate New York in about 30 minutes. Going to go visit some friends and have an overall good time. Here's to 5 hours in a car there and back again. So don't forget about me when most of you are gaming. Good-bye for now!

I'm back. Don't worry. Had plenty of fun, gave plenty of attention to some girls, and overall had a pretty good time. Hurrah!

I was in the area. I now have proof that the media covers up international incedents.

Speaking of trips, airfare to Chicago from Boston is $138 right now. So I should buy my ticket home for Christmas. Dilemma: how long should I stay? I never know. I don't have a job dictating how much time I have off now, so technically I could stay almost an entire month (classes don't begin again till mid-January).

But do I really want to? Nope.

Five days?

And they've got some good deals elsewhere, too, from Chicago--I could extend my stay at home and piggyback a nice trip elsewhere from Chicago, then come back through Chicago. Hmm.

How long do y'all stay at home when you go for Christmas?

Fare's good through Friday. Any of youse from Utah wanting to head to Chicago anytime, it's $208 right now. Travel good through Feb., and it doesn't seem to be blacking out a lot of dates. (And similar fares from other places.)

I think you should go for the ammount of time that it would be fun for you. Something that applies to personal fun as well as entertainment, "always leave them wanting more." If you leave BEFORE you're tired of it, you'll have better memories of it and want to do it again int he future sooner and/or more often.

That's what I'm thinking. There's so little to do at home. I suppose I could spend a few days helping my dad cut firewood... but then, they got an electric furnace last winter, and don't even do that anymore. And there's always family history to work on at Grandma's house, and things to carry up the stairs for Grandma. And nephews to play with. That is always nice.

The tempting idea is to piggyback a trip off my Christmas trip, but traveling alone over New Year's might be more boring than anything. I'll already have visited friends in Utah this month--who wouldn't be there over Christmas break anyway--and I can't think of anywhere else in the U.S. to visit on a whim.

Niagra Falls and the Greater Buffalo region, hosted by none other than yours sincerely, Gemm!

But, if I could go visit anywhere, right now, I'd have to say I'd go to Seattle and see what's there (and the friends I have there).

Seattle is a good idea, actually. I've never been there. If I did piggyback to anywhere, it seems smart to go west from Chicago, because it seems kind of silly to fly out of Chicago eastward and then go back to Chi to get to Boston.

Fine then! The Grand Tour that I wasn't planning will never see the light of day, or the light through my head! (Everything said here is very sarcastic and in no way means to demean anyone, especially you stacer. SO NO CRYING!)
