I respond, "Sure, but if you want to write them you will certainly want to know how they work." Writing is all about execution, and I find applying some basic laws of physics to magic systems make them more understandable and realistic. Here, I'm going to outline my basic method for developing a magic system.

I got into Mistborn when I worked for Barnes & Noble. Since my departure from the company I moved on to greener pastures.
At the Art Institute Online, as an employee.
I can see if any of the students I have spoken to who are nearing graduation have read your work (and if they haven't, make it a requirement for the degree...
) and I can also see if anyone in the career services department can give me some contacts that may be able to move the process along.
Even if all these possibilities fall through, I'm about halfway through my game art and design degree, and if you haven't gotten a game in the works by the time I graduate, I'll design it for you myself.

Brandon, if you ever have an inexplicable urge to visit the East Coast, we here in Pittsburgh would be happy to organize some sort of event for the occasion! Possibly around the late October-time, where those of us constructing mistcloaks can gleefully show them off to you?
On a side note, you sent a pre-release copy of Mistborn 2 to me through Barnes & Noble (before my separation from the company), and I've been meaning to send you an appropriate note of thanks, but since I haven't yet, this will have to do. THANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOU!!!!!!!!!
