Title: Wedding
Post by: EUOL on June 29, 2006, 12:42:06 AM
Hey!  I'd like to send some of you wedding announcements, if you want them.  Anyone who would like one, feel free to fire me off an email with your address.  Sent it to brandon ala rickstranger dot com.

Particularly, I'm talking to Ookla, SE, Jeffe, Old One, Skar, Lost One, Gemm, Entropy, Fuzzy Octopus, Eric Stone, and...anyone else I'm forgetting?  HoM, Nessa, Shrain...

Anyone have addresses for MoD or Brenna?

Okay, I just sent the email. Now I want an announcement. I'll be checking the mail.

I got the announcement yesterday.  Very cool.

I just received mine in the mailbox. This is very non-traditional and crazy-like-what stuff. I like the way this was arranged.

You two are a good looking couple, of course there are people who should stick to the completely wordy card and invite.

Well, have fun everyone.

I'm sure mine is waiting for me at home, but since I haven't been home for a week, I won't be opening it till at least the day of the wedding.

Post by: fuzzyoctopus on July 06, 2006, 12:08:13 AM
I got mine too; and I have to say I agree about the layout/design of the announcement. Very fun and unusual.  Wish I could make it to the reception.   :)

.....Where's mine?

/me Feels strangely like that guy (you know the one) that walks in while everyone is planning a party that he is not invited too.

;D ;D ;D
Title: Re: Wedding
Post by: Gemm: Rock & Roll Star; Born to Rock on July 06, 2006, 06:41:35 PM
/me feels like that person that feels awkward when said person walks in at first, but is ready to cuss him out if he says something. =P
Title: Re: Wedding
Post by: Shrain on July 06, 2006, 10:19:54 PM
Huzzah! A pre-wedding cussing! No eternal ceremony is complete without that, I must say.

Aaaanyway, congrats to the soon-to-be Mr. and Mrs. Evil Undead Overlord. :) I got the announcement, thanks. May the hitchin' day go off without a--oh, wait, never mind. ;) Well, best wishes and all that rot. Hope the weather and everything is lovely tomorrow.

And if we see you online at all within the next few days we will mock you mercilessly for weeks.

Not a chance.  He and Emily even showed up to the dinner all mussed.  There won't be much internetting going on over there for a while. :D
Title: Re: Wedding
Post by: fuzzyoctopus on July 09, 2006, 12:01:04 AM
Well, I'm disappointed that there will be less mocking, but that's good news at least.

Well, I wanted to officially get on here and say how happy I am that Brandon's married now.  I must say it was rather surreal seeing it finally happen--in a good way.  I went ahead and uploaded a few of the pictures that we took and put them here http://pics.livejournal.com/redaragorn/gallery/00001a62 if you're interested.  Enjoy!

Hmmm, I see Dan and Jordan as having the most fun at this wedding. Well, a mix of both traditional and a fun non-traditional nerdy wedding. Nicely done.

Thanks for posting the pictures! I also wish I could have been there, but I'm glad things went off well, and it looks like everyone had a good time.

EUOL, tell your wife she looks gorgeous for me. Ookla, what was it Skar said to you at your wedding reception about his being surprised you married such a "looker"?   ;D
Title: Re: Wedding
Post by: Skar on July 10, 2006, 12:55:27 AM
Fuzzy, must we bring such things up?  I didn't even realize I had put my foot in my mouth on that one until Pete gave me his "can't you taste your sock?" look.

sigh.  trying to forget...

Well, we did meet at TLE, you know. And that is where all the brilliant, beautiful women with good taste hang out.

Skar, I totally forgot that. And I will again in a few minutes, so no worries. :)

Post by: Spriggan on July 10, 2006, 09:35:56 PM
Isn't Earth 251 the alternate reality where people have tongues for fingers?
Title: Re: Wedding
Post by: Gemm: Rock & Roll Star; Born to Rock on July 10, 2006, 09:41:26 PM
It matters not. He will not fit in, and there in lies his true struggle. A story we will not hear for years and years.

Title: Re: Wedding
Post by: The Holy Saint, Grand High Poobah, Master of Monkeys, Ehlers on July 11, 2006, 09:12:02 AM
tongues for fingers are super cool.

Let me tell you, it was indeed a deliberate action of mine to corrupt TWG, and get you all to have tongues for fingers.

Post by: CtrlZed on July 11, 2006, 02:00:48 PM
Cool!  I've always wanted to taste everything I touch.
Title: Re: Wedding

My baby does that without even needing tongues replacing her fingers...

I think he was just checking e-mail, since his book does come out in 2 weeks, to make sure there's no emergency.
Title: Re: Wedding
Post by: fuzzyoctopus on July 13, 2006, 01:35:20 PM
Mostly likely.  And signed off once he found the only emergency was our having hijacked his "wedding" thread.

We didn't really hijack it as much as the discussion moved to talking about tongues. I suspect tongues were involved between Mr. and Mrs. EUOL at some point during the festivities. Possibly several times.

Also, there was the phrase "temple tongue" used. I'm uncertain as to the meaning, but I don't really desire to inquire.

Post by: Gemm: Rock & Roll Star; Born to Rock on July 14, 2006, 11:10:42 AM
Maybe its the mormon version of a french kiss?
Title: Re: Wedding
Post by: RedAragorn on July 14, 2006, 11:58:55 AM
The "temple tongue" bit was a comment that I thought, at the time, was sufficiently humorous and self-explanatory that it didn't need any further exposition.

As far as logging in on the honeymoon....ah well.  Not surprising, but perhaps disappointing.  As addicted to the computer as I am, I didn't even take my laptop.  But then, I *was* in southern Utah and not Hawaii.  Oh wait, that would make it more likely I'd bring it.  Oh never mind...

Someone should have just password protected his laptop before he left...given him the password when he got back.

Ha!  You all forget about the internet phone.  I wasn't ever really on line, just occasionally dinking around on the phone while I was at the bus stop or the like.

I actually only wrote a couple of pages (like, twenty-five) while on the honeymoon, and most of that was in the airport waiting to be able to fly home.

Pshaw. That's no writing at all!
Title: Re: Wedding
Post by: Shrain on July 18, 2006, 09:00:09 PM
Twenty-five pages is no writing at all? May god smite me with that curse, I pray.

Oh, and welcome back, EUOL.

Post by: RedAragorn on July 19, 2006, 10:13:40 PM
I suppose I wrote that much volume during the time he was gone, but it's too bad that lame work emails back and forth to my colleagues don't quite count as "real writing".  Well, maybe the blog counts for something...

Covenant is having a contest for creative marriage proposals. As I recall, EUOL's was pretty interesting. Maybe you should go for it, EUOL.

To send an entry, just write 300 words or less and email to events AT covenant-lds DOT com by September 1, 2006. Include first and last names, home and email addresses, and telephone number.

The winner gets a diamond anniversary band and a one-night stay at an Anniversary Inn. Also, one of their authors, Michele Ashman Bell, will feature the story in one of her upcoming novels.

oooh! The Anniversary Inn is nice, and I highly recommend it even if you don't get a free night. ^^ My husband and I spent a couple of nights there before our flight left for our honeymoon. It was very very romantic.
