Cross your fingers on this one, people...

ACK! I hope the STUDIO isn't thinking about anyone that he's been mentioning. They all just make me feel.. icky. Does that guy know what he's talking about? "Amazon" in the context of greek myth and WOnder Woman does NOT mean Latin American.
Except that Morena Baccarin.. .but I'm having a hard time making the leap that a greek goddess would make a child who had black skin.
Maybe we can find someone NEW?
Hopefully, the studio has more sense than some guy who can write an MSN article and list off a bunch of famous actresses.
-
Morena Baccarin has very light skin,... she'd actually be the perfect body type and coloring for the role. http://www.morena-baccarin.com/modelingpages/modeling2.html
Im just worried that shed be too frail for the role. I dont have a problem with a wonder woman of any color,.. and frankly a darker skinned wonder woman would be kind of cool. But quit with the latin stuff... Jessica Alba has enough work, oh and also dont bring back Grace Jones.
-
ok, I haven't seen many pictures of her, but from that shot, yeah, maybe she can pull it off. A minority Wonder Woman would be cool for a lot of reasons, but it would require a major rewrite of the origin to be believable.
-
That picture looks like the space hooker from Firefly, and I'm too lazy to look her up. Is it the same person?
Okay, I actually read the article and yes, it's the same person. I find it very amusing, however, that the writer has no clue that the Amazons of greek myth are unrelated to the Amazon jungle--that's such a glaring, stupid blunder that you'd think it came out of a sitcom rather than a real person. Like how they used to make Star Wars jokes during the Reagan Administration.
-
I know she was in Firefly (from the article,) but I don't know about any space hookers (I've never seen the show myself.)
-
Yep, she was a space hooker,... but doest that really matter? Her inclusion as Wonder Woman prolly depends on the Success of the Firefly movie...
She is however hot, so I foresee big things from her.
-
The question I was wanting to ask was how major a change would it be to have a colored Wonder Woman. Greek gods and Goddesses have all sorts of power and since greece was a fairly worldly culture I could actually see a colored wonder woman. It just has to be done in a matter of fact kind of way to work.
-
Greek was a worldly culture, but the greek gods were all greek. I don't object to colored skin by any means, but casting someone who could never pass as greek in the role of a greek goddess seems a little over the top. I was similarly bothered that the guys wife in "Beautiful Mind" was white instead of latin--just do it the way it's supposed to be, guys.
Besides, the fact that this whole question came up because some doof on MSN doesn't know what an Amazon is has poisoned my mind on the subject altogether.
-
There were Black amazons in Wonder Woman's island, I've even got Click of one.
-
This Morena Baccarin could easily pass for a Greek, I think.
And yeah, I didn't even realize that the guy thought Amazon = South America. I hope someone pointed that out to him, and that he's feeling pretty stupid.
-
mmm...Jessica Alba....Wonder Woman....mmmmmm
-
The only problem with Jessica Alba as Wonder Woman would be that Wonder Woman was not a moron. And was actually athletic rather than just 18.

*snicker*
-
The only morons around here are those that don't like Jessica Alba.
-
Are you kidding, have you seen how bad she was in Flipper and Dark Angel?
-
I stand by my broad statment.
-
I like people who don't like Jessica Alba, it means more Jessica Alba for me.
-
and more for me too. Jessica Alba is so hot. I'm really looking forward at seeing her in Sin City and The Fantastic Four.
-
Y'all carry on with your adolescent fantasies. We'll carry on with our more discerning tastes and insist on quality from our actors, rather than booty.
-

What about people who are quite indifferent? I personally am quite so. I could care less either way
-
Preach on sister!!!
-
What's up with all the hostility? Can people not make a comment about how attractive someone is without getting it thrown back in their face? Some people in this forum really need to settle down and let their insecurities go.

Amen
There are some people that are overly hostile on this forum when you don't agree with them.
-
/me looks incredulously at Spriggan and then starts laughing hysterically
-
if you think any of that was hostile, you are dead wrong.
-
And also an idiot. I hate it when jerks like you don't agree with me.
-

Yes sprig, since - and I quote -
The only morons around here are those that don't like Jessica Alba.
As long as they pick a good actress who can do Wonder Woman justice, I'll be happy. Can Jessica Alba do that or is the booty factor her only appeal? This is an honest question - I haven't really seen her act in anything.
-
Hmmm, I saw a short biography on the guy who invented Wonder Women, and that just ruined her whole concept for me. He was pretty freaky.
-

Hey what I said was true, I never said I don't do the same. An iniate hostility has been around for this board for a few years now, its not something I don't like much either, but you have to become what you hate to survive here.
As for Jessica Alba's acting abilites, I think she's not half bad, she's not oscar material but this isn't an oscar type movie we're talking about here.
-
And besides! Sheeees, boooootyliiiiiiiicious!
-
You know, Jennifer Connelly might do nicely in this role (if she would consider taking it)...and although she's not an action star, I bet she could kick butt if she needed to.
-
I'm going to let the men here duke the rest of this one out, seeing as how they're doing prefectly fine without much other intrusions.
-

whats with the double negative? Does that mean it is something you like "much"?
:D
-
I'm a Communist!
-
LOL ;D
-
You are all weirdos.
-
I r teh gayz
:P
-
Jennifer Connely wearing a Wonder Woman costume is one of my fantasies.
-
I have to say, Entropy, that typing the phrase you put up there definitely makes you more gay than anything I said.
-
You know, it's amazing I didn't think of this trick before you guys did... how quaint and silly. Finally my death knell is working. :P
-
Yup. I rock.
-
you have to become what you hate to survive here.
*Fish wonders if her very survival is at stake here.
-
I agree, if that were true, then there would be a good amount of people keeling over around here.
-
*Fish keels over, just for fun
-
On a serious note, you DON'T have to become what you hate to survive. Even if we want to tone it down and say that you have to do what you hate to hold your own on the forum, it's still wrong. If you truly believe that we need to stop fighting, then you shouldn't fight. People don't think less of you for staying calm and not arguing. In fact, they usually think more of you. The only thing standing in the way is your own pride.
Which I, unfortunately, have a lot of. I'm going to try and tame it though and stay out of fights. I don't expect to have 100% success at first. like I said, I have a lot of pride. But I'll try.
-
Plus Sprigg and you were already like that to begin with. :P
So was I of course.... but :P anyway
-
Ooooh! Who's fighting? I want to watch!
(seriously, did someone get offended and I not notice?)
-
we're still talking about the "hostility" remarks by MoreDew and sprig on page 2 of this thread and Entropy's reaction.
-
I still start snickering when I think of Spriggan saying that.
