Kije, yeah, I feel your pain. You need to move out here. Then you and I can waste time while our wives watch Jane Austen movies or soemthing.

Oh Kije... why didn't you learn from Eric's example like the rest of us?

You have to find out about gaming before you fall in love. If you do it after it's too late.

Hey, all that angst and conflict make for a better gamer.  Right, Saint?

yeah, right... that's it.

To be honest, though, my gaming and SF interest were in remission when I courted my wife for the final time. You guys are all directly responsible for reawakening all of it. When we came back to Provo after our marriage, I saw the poster for TLE, so I showed up. The rest is history.

One thing we could consider for the New Year's party is having a bout of Emperor games. MTG.com has been sporting a number of articles about Emperor games over the last few weeks, and that seems like it'd be an interesting change to the standard chaos format our games typically run.

Anyone interested? The articles I've been reading are here:

http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=mtgcom/columnarchive&column=SeriousFun

and they give a good enough explanation of the format that we could figure out the rules. We could set up teams ahead of time. If extra decks are needed I could provide a few.

As long as we're talking about various games we could play, I'd be up for a short RPG session too. I'll get more people to agree if I leave the game system we would use open, but even if it is just a high-power character brawl, it could be great fun.
