ugh. The live action TIck was pretty lame.

Watch the V miniseries (not the serial).
also, Battlestar Galactica was cool, imo. And the Buck ROgers TV series. Yeah, good times.

Highlander.

I loved all of V.

Babylon 5 is the best show ever.

And I'm enjoying Stargate SG1, of which I did not see the first episode until I'd seen a bunch of episodes in seasons 4 through 6.

I liked Firefly but had to turn episode 3 off halfway through because it was offensive.
All Saiyuki fans should check out Dazzle! Emotionally wrenching action-adventure and quirky humor! (At least read chapter 6 and tell me if you're not hooked.) Volume 10 out now!

Two words: Dark Angel

But only the first season.  The second season was so horribly bad it hurt to watch.

Bringing up a dead thread, because I just finished season 2 and I almost agree. Season 2 just went in a completely different direction and has nothing to do with season 1. They had so many cool directions that they could have gone, and they tried to do comedy with steelheads? Dogmen? I mean, I liked Joshua a bit, but the whole point of the first season was that it was grounded in somewhat of a reality. Killing off her "siblings" and bringing in all the crazy looking mutants just made it into the same old obvious racial thing, rather than the clandestine, exciting race from the secret Manticore base, being chased down, etc. And the Halloween episode! Ug.

And all the keeping Max and Logan apart really, really ticked me off. For a while there in the middle of the season it was as if they forgot Logan was still a character.

Okay, so I do agree. Season 2 sucked. I wish they would make a movie that just ignored that Season 2 existed. :)

Dead thread :)

So in the end, since i posted this thread i've seen all of Babylon 5, 3.5 seasons on TNG, 1 season of Voyager, 1 season of Enterprise and Firefly. Also the 4th season of Farscape.

Good stuff :P Except Enterprise that is. The characters on that show annoy the hell out of me - the captain is so stereotypically gung-ho-American it's disgusting. Got a problem? Shoot it!

He's meant to be on a mission to meet and greet other races, and in every episode when he meets a new race he shoots them! It's like having a sociopath being a diplomat.

I've never seen Enterprise, but the captain sounds like the war version of Captain Kirk.  Kirk's normal mode being "Find a new race and sleep with one of them."

That's because James Cameron, who created the show, left as the creative director after the first season as per his contract.

Aha. No wonder. He came back to direct the season finale of season 2, but man, they really took it in a crazy direction. It really looked nothing like the world he created in season 1.

Well, it was always postapocalyptic--the "pulse" was a terrorist bomb that threw them into a depression. But the whole nomlies=dog/lizard/strange mutant X-Men took it out of the realm of an original show that explored a dystopia with a slight SF twist to it (genetic engineering) to a full-blown science fantasy X-Men ripoff.

True, though when I think post-apocalyptic I think Mad Max and I didn't get that feel from the first season yet I did from the second.  Though I haven't watched it in years so I'm basing this solely on memories.
