The 48 Laws of POWER
« on: May 12, 2006, 04:00:08 AM »
This book, by Robert Greene, is *thee* best historical guide for those of you who want Money, Power, and Sex!!  (okay, i'm exadurating on the 'sex' thing, but it does cover seduction)

This book skips the politically correct prison that prevents conversations on the topic.  He is "amoral, cunning, ruthless, instructive, and attention grabbing!"

Every chapter lists a law of power and then backs it up by using historical figures and events to illustrate the observance and transgression of the law.

How do people gain power??  They were *one* person, but they controlled an empire!  Yes but how??

This book tells you the cold and unscensored truth.  :)

(The sequals include:  The Art of Seduction and The 33 Strategies of War)

I was just really excited about this book.  I liked it, and I was trying to spark an interest in people reading the thread.  If you don't care or like the book, then whatever..

If someone was paying me, I'd probably be talking about a book that wasn't an international best seller.   :P

I guess my real issue is:
Quote
This book skips the politically correct prison that prevents conversations on the topic.  He is "amoral, cunning, ruthless, instructive, and attention grabbing!"

Which is a tagline to me that says "artificially controversial, deliverately in your face, useless, and attention grabbing."

Oh so you've read it??

Well if *you* didn't like it 'E'..  then I guess the book really does suck.   ;)

I guess I'm just ignorant, gullable, and sucked in by the media.  Which really might be true...

Not really..  you just hurt my fragile feelings (sniff, sniff)
I'm crying right now.  Seriously, a single tear ran down my face.

Actually I think this thread has run it's course as a dialogue between you and me, don't you think?    ;)

Anyways, just trying to get good conversation going, and I mistakenly thought an agressive business inspiration book might be a different approach.  Of course now I realize I must be the only person here interested in such things.

It's amazing that centuries of Psychology studies haven't figured out the laws of manipulation, but Robert Greene has.
"Never argue with a fool; they'll bring you down to their level, and then beat you with experience."
