If you think something about the site or the forum should be changed, feel free to post it here.
-
Here's something else I will be doing, that I think will solve a couple back and forth problems we've had.
I'm going to make a SINGLE sticky thread at the top of a few of the sections, listing the most commonly resurrected threads:
ie, in Everything Else, it will link to whatever the current "quotes" thread is, the "Cool Stuff" thread, and the "News from the web." maybe a couple others.
Rants, I will link to the "stupid titles" thread
in Music, "cool lyrics" "What are you listening to" and "What's playin'"
To be honest, I think those are the only three sections that have more than one regularly recurring thread. This will make the threads easy to find, even if they run off the first page, without making tons of stickys to wade through to find other content. Let me know if there are other threads you feel should be linked to.
I will probably lock these "navigation" threads so that they don't get cluttered, and just unlock to edit them when it becomes necessary.
Give me some response to this.
-
I am going to add something in the FAQ, probably under the 'There's so much stuff here! What should I read?' question explaining all of the popular threads. What you say definitely has merit, though I worry about letting our 'stickies' get out of hand.
-
THat's why I'm saying just one thread for each forum. I dont' think people will go read the FAQ to dig through many thread topics. However, if they zero in on a section they like, they'll wonder what to do.
It would also be a reference, for people like Gemm this weekend, who wondered where that news thread was. *shrug* if no one wants it, I won't do it.
-
I think that is an extremely good idea. In fact, I was just the other day thinking about how to sticky the important topics without having a page full of stickys.
-
I don't see why we need it. They never slip past the first page.
-
but they DO slip past the front page. that's why it came up.
-
Yes, oh unquestionable ruler.
Though god knows why you can't abide looking around for 1 minute to find the thread. Sticky topics just clutter the place up to my mind.
-
It's your job to whine. If I didn't do things you hated, you'd have to stick with slapping down n00bs.
-
*nod*
-
Sorry, SE--I meant to get back to this earlier.
I think your suggestion is a good one, as I said--I was just pointing out a potential problem.
As I think about it, the 'Your Guide to X' threads might be good as an extension to the FAQ. Meaning, if they gave a bit of an explanation about the threads they link to, they could be of great use to newcomers. Then, I could include them word-for-word as the 'popular threads' section of the FAQ.
Then, at the bottom of the 'Your Guide' threads, we could say "Check out the Forum FAQ for more information on interesting threads." That would encourage people, maybe, to go read the FAQ.
Just a thought.
-
I have another suggestion. What if we officially capped threads at a certain number of pages. (Say, Ten?) Then everyone could know when a thread is getting too long. For those of us who like to keep track of how long threads get (for coolness) they'd be able to count how many pages their pet thread has gotten by multiplying the numeral after the title by ten. For people who have dial-up, they won't have to wait forever while a thread loads for them to post.
-
well I thinkn that's a good idea for some threads, but what about ones like word sense, we'd need a new every couple of days, and that would clutter things up...just a thought
-
I must point out here, that the current word sense has achieved a length in three months the time the old threads took a year to gain.
-
yeah, I'll go back through and add a link to the FAQ. RIght now I did give descriptions of the threads, so that should be good.
I think the length should be more like 20. It's just text. Text doesn't take long to load. Even on dialup. And that should only be on "frequently posted" threads, others it's nicer to have them all in one place.
-
i had an idear to get some more traffic to the forum, and I'm looking for feedback.
What if I made a thread on the Message board after posting an article, just for discussion on that article, then linked to it from the blurb and/or added a line to the article that said "discuss this article here" or something.
The main problem is that we don't discuss every article that runs. Maybe that would change if I made a thread for it and said something about it. Maybe not though. However, I see this as a good way to advertise the forum, and it would orient the noobs, since they'd have content to be talking about instead of random crap. Thoughts?
A more limited option would be to go back and edit blurbs/articles once a thread DOES appear about the article.
-
We used to do that with Tabletop articles. Â We stopped when I stopped writing tabletop articles (over a year ago). It worked fairly well--the topics were not huge, but there was usually a page or two about each article.
-
I like the idea, especially because it gives specific discussion possibilities.
-
I like it, but if the topics aren't actually discussed, they might fill up the forum. This currently is a problem at only one or two articles a day, but empty threads can be annyoing.
Also, if the purpose is to get new people in the forum, keep in mind that what is likely to end up is that we discuss each others writing skills and how well the article is written, just as much as we discuss the topic. This could alienate people following the thread.
Overall, I think it is a good idea.
-
at arstechnica they just have a separate forum for the news post discussions.
-
You know, I think this works pretty well. Not only does it make us forum-dwellers more likely to read the articles on the main page, but I think it's more likely to draw people to the forum. Both are desirable, I think.
-
I like the article/forum tie-ins, but why aren't the subjects being put into their proper forum departments? For example, shouldn't Axis & Allies be in Tabletop?
-
well, we kinda need to settle that. I understood that board games went in "other" which corresponded to "not tabletop" on the forum. Am I wrong?
I've been inconsistant myself. Some board games I've put in table top and some in other. But A&A was categorized as "other" when it was originally run, so that's where I put it.
Are there any others that I've misplaced?
-
I've always assumed board games were in the Tabletop category. Either way, the Other section needs to be fixed -- it's spelled "bordgames".
-
what do you want it to be. "Boredgames?" like that's exciting.
Unless you mean "board games," Which would imply some sort of board-like, stiff surface to play on. How weird would that be?
-
I just like the fact that "bordgames" is right next to "Gameing Chef", something I've pointed out before. Multiple times.
-
bork bork bork...
-
Brandon Sanderson:
If this who i think it is e-mail me at [email protected] It's your old pal Jen G from NY.
-
Uh, Sprig, do I know anyone named Jen living in New York?
-
*I* know a Jen who USED to live in NY, but she'd never introduce herself that way
-
Ooooh EUOL already has a stalker...
-
Not that I know of, she could be someone from College or TLE that I don't know. But Googleing your name comes up with a lot of BSs. It;s kinda funny that the #1 return for your name was born in the same year as you.
-
maybe the forum needs an "odor of the day" feature, I dont know why but I think it would be really cool and occasionally disturbing, like up at the banner where it's say "hello your <name here>, it's <whatever date> and the odor of the day is<insert odor here>, you guys prolly will think this is dumb, but I still thinks it's pretty good...
-
...
I'm sorry if this offends you. I don't mean anything insulting about it, but...
That is the stupidest idea I have ever heard.
-
yeah it's pretty bad... but thinking about it gave me about 15 minutes of chuckling.
-
lol.
Anyway, I don't think I'm the mysterious Brandon Sanderson this Jen is looking for.
Back to the topic at hand, SE, what do you think of putting "Article" or something in front of the thread names that deal with things from the first page?
For instance, "Article: Interesting WWII Facts."
I make this suggestion for two reasons. First, if I let a thread slip by for a while, I often skip down to the bottom to see what people are saying right now. I think if I knew when I clicked that I was going into a thread where everyone else had already read a specific article, I'd know to read the article before skipping to the bottom. Also, I think this would help people who like to use the 'Ten most recent posts' function.
-
hrm.... yeah, good idea. I'll start doign that.
-
I had an idea today for the site. It's about webcomics. Don't ask me why this came to me 'cause I never read them. But I thought, since apparently the site has a reputation for liking and reviewing webcomics, we could do an annual or biannual awards kind of thing for webcomics. We could call them the Wasties. It would be like any other kind of awards situation: best webcomic (for the year or half-year or whatever), best individual strip, best new webcomic, best art, best story, etc etc. If we play it up we might be able to get some exposure for this. People might advertise that they won a Wastie or something and link to the site. Anyways, it's an idea.
-
that is an interesting thought. We'd need a little button or something. And a list somewhere of all previous wasties.
We'd also need a committee. Probably EUOL and I should be on it.
-
Since when do we have enough members to pull off an awards thing?
-
how many members do you need?
-
Over 200 active at least, off the top of my head.
-
and the basis of this number?
-
The only problem I see with this idea is that there are already a bunch of comic/webcomic awards out there. Why add one more to the pot?
-
Yeah. The simple problem is that we're not dedicated enough. Some serious people such as Damonk have made comics, and webcomics, the focus of their lives. I just can't do that. I'm a fantasy novelist, and that has to remain my priority.
I'm going to do my best just to get out more reviews. That's how I think I should contribute to the community. However, I wouldn't be comfortable offering any awards.
-
The fact is SE, people have to care about a given award for it to be worthwhile. Nobody will care about an award from a site with 15 odd regulars. Nobody.
Lets just concentrate on the reviews, mkay?
-
Tage and EUOL make good points.
Entropy, however, must have something up his butt, so I'll ignore him completely until he decides he can start being civil in any conversation.
-
Yeah, it was just an idea, and not one I really cared about as I don't read webcomics anyways.
-
Looks like we're about to get our 200th Forum member. Let's have a prize for whoeevr it is. Like a custom title, or ritual hazing or something.
-
don't we ritually haze everyone?
I'm only for a custom title if the person actually HANGS AROUND. not a post three times and disappear type.
-
Well wouldn't you hang around if you had a custom title. Especially something like "I was the 200th Timewaster and all I got was a lame title." Also, I vote for an extra ritual hazing, that may or may not involve fire, and sulfuric acid. Hydrocholric can be substituted of course, but only at a 6 molar or higher concentration
-
well, *I* would. But I'm special. Unique. Better, actually. Not all the plebian masses would hang around because of it.
-
In any case, the 200th user is....
My friend Mark. How's that for anticlimax?
Anyway, if I have the admin power to do it, which I probably don't, I'll be awarding a cool title, for until someone else removes it.
EDIT: Nope, can't. Unless it's so deviously hidden an option it takes more than eight seconds to find. In which case I can't be bothered.
-
Titles can only be changed by EUOL, and to do so he has to change the titles for the whole class.
-
Ok. Change that in TWG 4.0, because Custom Titles Officially rock.
-
I like the class titles. I'm always interested in what the next one will be, cause they are like this mini-story. The warrior class has been, anyway.
-
The 300th user is someone new. It's Reigheena, and she was brought here by Elantris. We're getting a whole new dynamic with people who are drawn by EUOL's book. (I love how I am speaking with great authority, as if I have been here forever, when it's actually only been like three months. :))
-
what dose that have to do with TWG/Forum Improvements? I know like to chat but honestly don't dredge up 6 month old threads to post something entirely unrelated to the topic.
-
*Chimera looks sheepish*
Sorry. I thought this thread was sticky, and the last conversation on it was about the 200th member, and I thought it was cool that now there is a 300th member. Apparently not everyone agrees, though. ;)
-
Actually it was about custom titles, the 200th member just was a side note by JP.
It's not that I don't think it's cool that we hit 300 but that I don't like pointless thread bumpings. There are many more appropriate places for this like, you know, makeing a new thread in Rants.
-
Um...is Bob someone I should know? Or Spriggan in disguise?
-
Okay, you all want a comment about TWG improvements...
I think the new TWG should be in purple and mauve and have a whole section devoted to pictures of me... jk. ::)
Actually, one thing I've wondered about is if there is any way for the site to update itself? I always have to click on a link for it to update. I don't know enough about website design, but other sites update automatically, don't they? And I also liked the suggestion that someone made sometime about there being something that would show when you got a new PM (sorry about being so vague--someone sometime something :)). I always have to remember the number of PMs I had last and often I forget to even look at it. Many times I haven't realized that I have a new PM until someone posts on a thread "Chimera, check your PMs." It be nice if new PMs were obvious, like in your email. So those are my real suggestions, and now this thread hasn't been bumped in vain.
-
please no more conversation about what was right or wrong to post in this thread, it's a business thread, and the point has been made.
when you say "update itself" do you mean refresh in your browser? Just hit "refresh" then it's not taking up bandwidth when you're not using it. As for the PMs, I rarely (if ever) use them, since email and IM are much more efficient, but we have discussed how the link to your own PMs is too obscure. It'd also be nice if it let you see the PMs you had SENT, so you could remember where a conversation was coming from.
-
See, I know so little about web lingo that I don't even know how to describe myself and what I mean by "udating itself". I will attempt to, though. This is the first forum I've been to, and when I first came to the site I found it interesting that if I wanted the site to be current, I had to hit refresh--I'd never seen a site like that before. Perhaps it is common for forums where people are posting constantly--I don't know. But it has been on my mind for awhile so I thought I'd throw it out. Really, though, it's not a big deal--like you said, e, I can hit refresh or I just click on a section and then click on home and it refreshes the page. The blue burst that indidcate a new post are helpful--definitely keep a type of those in the new site.
And e what you said about the PMs is pretty much all that would need to be done. I don't use it much either, but it is a nice little feature that could be made more clear.
-
I read that as 'the link to your pm's is too obscene'.
Which was a lot more exciting than what he actually said.
-
I am filled with lies and deceit.
-
Hey SE, you can see what PM's you sent. Check your outbox. When you click on "Your instant messages" and it takes you to the next screen, the link is right above where incoming messages would be.
-
Um...is Bob someone I should know? Or Spriggan in disguise?
it was me, I had put away my laptop and was waiting to leave work (my replacement was late, as usual) so I was using one of the work computers.
As for Chimera's update suggestion. Â It's quite easy, most scripting (javascript or PHP) can do it, basically you're telling the browser to hit the refresh button every set amount of time (generally 5-10 minutes). Â I personally really find it annoying since they tend to update (and thusly reload) while I'm reading something. Â Yahoo news is an example of this. Â If you want something where it would update in real time that's a lot more complicated and not anything we could even do on TWG with how our server is set up and would require everyone who wanted to use our forums to download a program (a java applet at the very least or the forum would have to be in Flash). Â I can't actually think of any site like this, there's probably a few forums that do but they'd more be concept things then actual full community.
The new forum's PM features are pretty standard with what's popular in current Forums (our site's forum is several years old so missing some of these things) and the PM notice is more prominent. Â For one you can set it so you receive and e-mail when you get one (good for those of you that don't want to give out their actual e-mail but still want forum members to be able to contact you) or you could set it so you receive a pop-up window notice (I think) when you get one. Â Personally I'm with SE, everyone here has easy access to my e-mail so why bother with a clunky PM system? Â But I know others use it so we'll be making sure it's easier and more useful.
Something like this could be added to TWG 4.0 if I feel like it, though it would have to be optional since I know I wouldn't be the only one who would get annoyed by it. Â But this isn't the place for this type of discussion since it's been superseded by the TWG 4.0 board. Â Basically if you have any suggestions that EUOL himself could easly (ie little or no coding at all) add then make it here, anything else goes into TWG 4.0, just make a new thread if there isn't one that suits your need.
-
Perhaps it would be a good idea to create a board where people could put topics about conventions, workshops, etc.
-
Theoretically, the Writing Group forum is the proper place for that. At least, that's what I've understood it to be for.
-
You know, I had completely ignored that forum because its categorization under Alternate Realities and its description did not make me think it was a general forum about writing.
-
heres a suggestion. We have a writing board here but no art one. I think we should have one to share artistic abilitys and brag.
-
That's an option. For now though you could place art related things in Webcomics, that's close enough.
-
An "art" board would be a little bit like an oekaki, which is fine in theory, but the last site I installed an oekaki for had major problems with it. If it's just art discussion, well, I don't see an issue with creating a forum for it if people want it.
-
I wasn't thinking of an Oekaki, though I don't think we need on of those they cause too much of a problem with keeping things moderated.
-
I'm not talking about anything close to as sophisticated as you are, but on a forum with a similar format, there was a birthday bit at the bottom of the page ( http:// ) .
I also think admin should be able to move threads that are in the wrong place, and delete rubbish or unused ones instead of just locking them.
-
we can do all that, except the birthdays, but I think there's a plugin for it that's really easy. and it wouldn't be hard to code.
-
I didn't know you could delete... And when I said move threads, I meant posts.
Also, at the bottom of the page, Fell has been "in the corner" for ages... Maybe you should change that.
And just another idea...
You could maybe have some kind of encoding that changes n00B writing into proper English automatically. I think that's possible...? ???
-
When you are put in the corner, you stays in the corner. I must have been there for nearly a month before Fell got punished for ordering Tage to do stuff. At least I think it was something like that.
By the way, when you look at a user's profile on thier birthday it has a little cake next to thier age. So having it at the bottom would be kind of redundant, plus the birthday thread; either way I don't think that it really needs to be done even more so since I like it the way it is. Of course around here the single thing that I like it might put the Admins dead set on changing it. :P
-
e, did you put The_Bot in the corner or did Sprigg; because the amatuer mistake with spelling makes it dificult to tell.
-
I put no one in the corner. I'm above putting people in the corner. I've moved beyond it.
Usually either EUOL or Tage does the corner thing.
-
Another suggestion:
In the last updated-type bit next to the categories, could you not only put the name of the poster but the thread too?
-
Why would they want to do that? So they can rob you of your much needed nano-seconds worth of exercise in your fingers while they spend hours re-coding?
-
New forum does that.
I'm hoping to have a preview of it somtime in the next week or two so TWG regulars can see what we're planning.
-
I've been re-reading my old articles. There's one in particular I want to have deleted. It's very old, terrible quality and I don't like the fact it's one of the first that comes up when you search for my name. This may have have implications in the near future as I plan to use TWG as a portfolio of my work for an endeavour I've discussed with some of you on IM.
Who currently is doing Admin stuff like that? Can I just PM you the title of the article?
-
Fell and SE are the only ones that could do that.
-
And Tage, the horrible monster of the deep mist.
-
yes, but that abyssal monster won't bother himself with article management, he's got more nefarious things to do.
-
email me. I don't check my PM
-
Which address do you use now?
-
I use many. [email protected] will work though
-
I don't suppose we can change what class we are, can we? I figure not, but it would be fun to be able to ;D.
-
No, but when we move over to the new forum (hopefully next month) you'll be able to for a few weeks since that information dosen't get transfered when we upgrade.
-
I think I told you guys about this somewhere, but I can't find it now, so maybe I imagined it. If I'm repeating myself, I apologize.
The link to the HTML tags from the Submit An Article page is broken. And that makes me sad. Cause I used it to find tags. And I would like to be able to find them again.
-
I can't remember the last time that link worked.
http://www.webcom.com/html/tutor/
Just scroll down to the tags section
-
Well it's the first I've heard of it. I just fixed the link.
-
Thanks for fixing it, Tage. It actually worked perfectly up until two weeks ago.
-
I've pretty much got it figured out now, but there is no explaination anywhere on dueling or leveling up. Maybe a new post to the forum would do? or even an addition to the FAQ.
-
we like being mysterious
-
K, so, is there already an RSS feed available from TWG? If so (i'm stupid) where can I find it? If not, how hard would it be to set up? I have a friend who told me the other day that he'd definitely subscribe to a TWG RSS feed but that he forgets to check sites that don't have them.
Oh, and also, any chance we'll get a progress bar for our levels anytime soon? I miss that.
-
and level *titles* for a number of us.
-
1) RSS. No there isn't one. Will there be one? Yes one is planned for 4.0 but I could swing something before then, I'm thinking of using Feedburner instead of fully coding one myself so we can get better syndication.
2) Progress bar. As I've mentioned in the staff forum post from a few weeks ago we haven't come to a decision on how to Handel them graphically yet.
3) Level titles. Many people don't have them because they haven't chosen a class yet, if you don't choose a class you don't have any title. If you don't have a class goto your profile and you'll have a one time option to select any class you want. Once you do you're stuck with that class and we won't change it.
-
Here's a strange thing. I thought I'd chosen a class. I just went and checked, and yes, I'm a student of nature. But I don't have any titles popping up. Glitch?
-
says your a protest organizer, that's the class title. SE has no class right now so his is blank (it's under your level).
-
so we have to rechoose our class after the reinstall then? Why didn't anybody tell me this?
-
says your a protest organizer, that's the class title. SE has no class right now so his is blank (it's under your level).
Strange. It truly wasn't there when I posted earlier.
-
Sprig tells me that you have to post after choosing your class.
-
it's because after you select a class you have to post once (or I have to run my title correcting script) for one to be assigned you.
-
so we have to rechoose our class after the reinstall then? Why didn't anybody tell me this?
I did say it, it was in my first post here (http://www.timewastersguide.com/forum/index.php?topic=4980.0) and I even had a News Box item about that for about a month.
-
Since this conversation has moved down to this thread I'll post there here.
profile upgrade
We've added an "Article Count" section to user's profiles. If you have at least one article in our database then it will appear at the end of your profile where you, and others, can see how much you've written and you can figure out how many more articles you need to get an achievement award.
If you feel your count is wrong or you don't have one and think you should PM me and I'll look into it.
-
K, so, is there already an RSS feed available from TWG? If so (i'm stupid) where can I find it? If not, how hard would it be to set up? I have a friend who told me the other day that he'd definitely subscribe to a TWG RSS feed but that he forgets to check sites that don't have them.
Just remembered why we don't have an RSS feed, we need to have the article link as a variable in the blurb.
-
Ok after playing around with this some (you'll find that if you submit or edit an article now there's a space for a blurb) there are a few things we have to do for RSS.
1) All our blurbs must be valid XHTML, no more being lazy, that means all <br> tags and <img> tags have to be self-closing and all tags must be lowercase and have and end tag.
2) No special characters. No ' " $ % & * @ ect
Now for the fist one that means if you're using a WIZYWUG or other HTML editing program you need to find the option that makes what you do XHTML compliant, if there isn't one then you need to check everything by hand. One tag that's no properly closed and our feed goes bye-bye. RSS feeds are not forgiving of errors like browsers are.
For the second one I have a script that will encode the special characters to their Unicode equivalents (like & for &, ′ for ' ect.) so that's not something we have to worry about.
I have not made any of these changes live yet until after the Staff has a chance to discuss all the implications on how things will change if we do this.
-
so we have to rechoose our class after the reinstall then? Why didn't anybody tell me this?
I did say it, it was in my first post here (http://www.timewastersguide.com/forum/index.php?topic=4980.0) and I even had a News Box item about that for about a month.
Oh, like I read the news posts.
-
Cleaned up the front page a bit.
Auto centered it and set a max width like the forum.
Added pages to it so you can peruse old blurbs, however this only works to early February since we automatically deleted blurbs before then--which is a shame.
Crap..and I accidental deleted all the google ads...that was smart.
Fixed
-
sorry if im no help but i dont have any suggestions... u guysis are doing an awsome job! i just dont sorta get the whole level stuff...i wanna know it sounds awsome! :)
-
Please stop spamming. If you don't have anything that's constructive to add to a post then don't post, you've got too many of these pointless replies which is against forum rules. If you're doing this just to get levels (as I suspect you are from your above post) then I will remove this feature from you, the last thing I need to be doing is spending my weekend babysitting on this forum.
-
im sorry but i dont know what a level is as ive said in my last post and i was asking if someone would care to explain. im new on this and i just want someone to help me out but no one is talking to me.
-
Most of your questions are probably answered in the FAQ:
http://www.timewastersguide.com/forum/index.php?topic=11.0
I think it's only mildly out of date.
-
thnx i can FINALLY understand! ;D haha gtg thnx so much!
-

SE has been working to update it, think he's almost done then is going to repost it.
-
im sorry but i dont know what a level is as ive said in my last post and i was asking if someone would care to explain. im new on this and i just want someone to help me out but no one is talking to me.
Also keep in mind that it's the weekend, and the forum is very quiet on the weekend.
-
define "been working"
I actually fixed up 2/3-3/4 of it (or put together a document that fixes that much) but I haven't finished it off. I should probably get right on that.
-
Will you be incorporating info on how to pay for posting?
-
Yes, actually. That is one of the new topics I've already written.
-
I just added a quick package that will not show spiders in the "who's online" list numbers you see at the bottom of the from index, you can however see all the spiders by clicking on those numbers.

Is there a place where you can see all of the ranks, for each class? I know it doesn't mean much, but it's cool to know what you are shooting for.
-
Nope, to be honest I don't even know what most are.
The point of the ranks, as originally envisioned by Fell and EUOL, was to do crazy stuff to catch people off guard.

Ok i cant help but feel entirely incompetant. i have seriously spent at least 2 hours attempting to get an avatar to show for my TWG profile. i created a mypage account and uploaded an avatar so i could use that url as the one TWG requires but for somereason it wont work. i have no idea what im doing wrong and i dont know who to ask
Avatar sizes are limited to 64x64 I believe.
I use to allow the site to shrink larger avatars but some people had animated ones (or really large images) and it caused the forums to become unresponsive.
Another thing to check is make sure you have http:// in front of your URL, if you forget that the avatar won't display.

Small complaint, but annoying:
During the registration, as we type in the security phrase/anti spambot phrase, could we not have ambiguous characters? I got held up one one of those vertical lines that could have meant an l, 1, or I.
-
I am not sure, but I think they are randomly generated. :( Sorry it was such a pain.

at the slight risk of looking like a nub, i have a question i can't seem to find in the FAQ's; what are fell points?
-
They are points you get if you do something really cool or something amazing that an Admin will give you.
-
both

Is there a posibility to post a "how to.." regarding the search function of the main site? I never seem to be able to get any results at all. Even if I search for something I know is there, the search comes up blank (i.e. search string "Sanderson" returns nothing). Is there something I don't get or is the thing broken?
