Hey, they are safe for me, just not for everyone who are not me. It sometimes amazes me the number of people who arn't me, and i simply cannot concieve how they survive throughout the day. But yeah, they might not be terribly safe, but i am, and thats all i care about. :)

See, this is the sort of thing that demonstrates why it's wise to neuter your pets. Someone get the clippers.

That's ok. Once you're neutered you won't have the inclination to such violence.

And, if the movie stereotypes are to be believed--and we all know they are--once you're castrated, you turn into a big, buff, bald, black guy.

weird, you'd think you'd need the testosterone for that

(note, the above sentence is playing along with the fiction, let's not turn this into an endocrinology lecture)

Guys, my fish just died.  It was kind of sad watching Mersault give up the ghost (it was a long, drawn out process,) and I'm not sure if I should feel guilty about it.  Here's why I think he died, in order of probability:

1. old age
2. he had a bad reaction to the harder water here in UT
3. some failing on my part that I can't identify

I'd go with three, just because I'm mean, but the real problem is that you moved closer to Tage. He has a fish-killing aura that extends over a fairly wide area.

It's not your fault. How old was your fish?

Yeah, it's probably my fault.

Hey, Chombone is still alive! That stupid koi will probably outlive everyone in my apartment.

I'd say it was definitely old age if I knew when he was born, but they don't keep track of those things for fish, or at least the fish that I would own.  But he was going on 1.75 years in my care, which is pretty old for a betta.  Yes, Mersault is a betta.  Well, was a betta.  Now he's either my guardian angelfish, or an icthyodemon stoking the fires of hell, waiting to exact his revenge on me.

I like the demonic possibility. It's more picturesque. Also: funny.

Out of passing fascination, how does a fish stoke a fire?
