Title: Everyday Life in Yore
Post by: Mr_Pleasington on December 14, 2002, 03:34:23 AM
Does anyone know of any good sites with info on how everyday life was conducted in yesteryear?  I'm looking for anywhere from BCE times to middle ages in either Europe or Asia.

I need some sort of reference on how common problems were overcome.

Thanks.

There is actually a series--several, really--called "Everyday Life in the...." (fill in the blank). You should be able to find them in a university library. I know the BYU library has several volumes, if you're at BYU. There's a Middle Ages in England book, I know that for sure, and I'm pretty sure there are some on mainland Europe and on Asia, too.

Not websites, but the best book resources you can find, so I've been told.

Sadly, I'm not at BYU, but I'll have to check out the library at my school.  I don't actually think I've ever been in the real library since I spend most of mine in the medical library.  Given the way my school is, they won't have such books...though they could always interlibrary loan.

Thanks for the tip, stacer.
