Orson Scott Card
« on: November 01, 2004, 04:13:29 PM »
The following review will appear in Scott's Column, as well as on the cover/inside few pages of my book:

http://www.brandonsanderson.com/page.php?id= 13

Edit--I decided that I shouldn't go around posting the review before he gets a chance to put it in his column.  So, I put it on my site and gave it a link here.  Not a big difference, but I think it is a bit more respectful.  Take out the space before 13 to see the review.

Wow. I actually made my coworkers gather around as I read it to them. That's so impressive. And I thought Simon and Dave gave you good cover quotes...

"I'm glad I didn't write this book. I'm not the least bit envious. Because if I had written it, I wouldn't have had the pleasure of letting it unfold before me as this story did, in all its ugliness and beauty and excitement and pain."

Wow, I hope you're not tripping on Egotism right now EUOL. =P Good job man, after all those crappy novels you've written in the past, it's about time one good one gets through.

That's awesome.

Hm, is it really good to have it in the book though? All of it (that you posted)?

All Saiyuki fans should check out Dazzle! Emotionally wrenching action-adventure and quirky humor! (At least read chapter 6 and tell me if you're not hooked.) Volume 10 out now!

I'm sure they won't use the whole thing.  Just some select paragraphs.

Whoa!  Even if I didn't know you, I think I'd read the book just from reading his review of it.  That's awesome!

So he's going to be in Boston this weekend. But not to talk about literature; he's talking about Israel and the Middle East Conflict.

Not sure if I'll go. It's my friend's birthday party at the same time.

So I think I will actually be going to it after all. My friend Cassy just asked me to go with her. So I'm going. So if there's anything interesting, I'll report it later.
