/me eats the soul again, this time making sure his stomach is lined with a coating souls can't break. He then stores it in an internal storage organ, effectively trapping the soul forever.

eh, maybe I'll get indigestion, but I can handle it.

Tree blessed. You're a friggin' pagan.

Tryant, in the greek root, is NOT a negative connotation. I'm just a big believer in a Just god.

/me retains the soul.
(it's kind of my thing).

Not blessed by the woods, blessed of the woods... big difference

Tyrant

\Tyr"ant\, n. [OE. tirant, tiraunt, tyraunt, OF. tiran, tirant (probably from confusion with the p. pr. of verbs), F. tyran, L. tyrannus, Gr. ?, originally, an absolute sovereign, but afterwards, a severe or cruel ruler.] 1. An absolute ruler; a sovereign unrestrained by law or constitution; a usurper of sovereignty.

2. Specifically, a monarch, or other ruler or master, who uses power to oppress his subjects; a person who exercises unlawful authority, or lawful authority in an unlawful manner; one who by taxation, injustice, or cruel punishment, or the demand of unreasonable services, imposes burdens and hardships on those under his control, which law and humanity do not authorize, or which the purposes of government do not require; a cruel master; an oppressor. ``This false tyrant, this Nero.'' --Chaucer.

So while at one time it may have been a benevolent title it has long since ceased to be.

/me 's soul is recovered
(its mine... I own it)

As it's my title, I'm using the original meaning. Especially since as a student of divinity, I study such things and understand and rely on original meanings. Since the title is of ancient date, I'm justified in this

And by the way "blessed of the woods" can have the meaning that the woods have blessed you. And yes, that is perfectly grammatically correct, even in modern English.

Now that that's setting, tree-boy, I'm still digesting that soul. The friend of the people avails you none, for

/me devours 42's soul as well.

The soul can still be yours. But it's also my meal :)
Title: Re: Hard to resist re nicknaming Saint

since you didn't give yourself that title so your opinion of the meaning is irrelevent... and since that makes me still free.

You cast your Summon Fire Elemental spell!
SaintEhlers defends with a 0 spell!
spell absorbs 2 damage!
You hit SaintEhlers for 292 damage!
SaintEhlers has -722 hit points left.

You win the match point!

See folks, here again we have an example of spurious logic.

Also, we see a beta test of a fight that doesn't work. Know this; since the class confusion, I have NO leveling up done. I could just pump it all into offensive spell.

Basically, what does this mean? i still have devoured all the souls, and there really isn't anything that can be done about this.

cast all the spells you want pagan boy. I've still devoured your soul.
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Title: Re: Hard to resist re nicknaming Saint
Post by: Mad Dr Jeffe on January 12, 2004, 10:09:52 PM
hardly spurious,
you did not give yourself the title of tyrant.
therefore you have no say when it comes to the meaning of the word tyrant.
Tyrant in this case would seem to carry the bad connotation (what with the tagline merciless) proving that you are merely a pretender to true divinity... also you eat souls (which cant be good)
therefore since I am blessed and from the woods (but not by the woods) I am obviously blessed by something greater. I am not a Pagan (which you very well know) therefore I am blessed by God. He would not allow my soul to be eaten.
Therefore my soul is not eaten.

I am not responsible for your lack of effort in leveling up. Your lack of motivation hardly counts as an excuse for your pathetic turnout.
As it is I also won every other contest in the fight cue.
So I win... and you get no souls today Mr -722 hit points

let's step out of character here for a moment:
if *I* am an evil person because one way of taking my title seems negative (and yeah, I did give myself the title, I earned the posts to get here, just like Entropy will eventually), then YOU are pagan because your title sounds pagan.
If you are not pagan because in real life you aren't, then I am not evil because in real life I'm not. Which is it?

Back in character.
You think low hit points affects the man at the top of the mortal portion of the chain of being?
*laughs maniacally*
/me excommunicates tree-monkey for good measure.

actually staying out of character for a second
for some reason you even hinting at eating my soul offends me and I wish you would stop and just drop it.
You havent taken the hint.
Stop it.
Ive said it pretty plainly.
It bothers me and I dont find it amusing.
Thanks

*sigh*

I know I shouldn't, but I'm weak and petty.

What ****ing hint? The only thing you've done is play along. Now that you've asked I'll stop, but don't pretend like there was some message for me to get there, because if there was, you did a crappy job of communicate it. There was no hint, sorry. if there had been one, I'd have taken it.

Sorry, Jeffe.  Totally looked like you were playing along on my end.  If you'd said something about it bothering you earlier, SE would obviously have stopped.  However, instead of saying that--or even just leaving the topic alone--you made 'Aliens' references about bursting free from stomachs.  You can't fault a guy for thinking that you aren't serious when you act like you aren't serious.

I cant win. I recognized that I was being too subtle and asked saint to stop, Im sorry if I phrased it  badly phrased but I was't blaming Eric for the hint thing and never intened it to be that way.
And yeah I was playing along the first post but after that  I think it transitioned to me getting more and more offended after he kept bringing it up... its started to grate on me, like a young kid contradicting evrything you say when you disagree with them.  I'll just be more direct next time.

Title: Re: Hard to resist re nicknaming Saint
Post by: Mad Dr Jeffe on January 14, 2004, 08:02:25 PM
Im not calling him a little kid. Im saying the back and forth between us resembled a kid "oppositing" someone.
When Eric and I fight please keep in mid that the reason it seems so bad is that we have been friends for years
That being said, I dont think either of us could stay angry at each other....

You're not supposed to get it. You're a girl. Male interaction is one of the few mysteries we have still from girls.
The reason girls don't understand male interaction with girls is that they want to apply their girl logic (which appears to ahve something to do with not being entirely up front and presenting some sort of image so they can run tests and manipulate) to a behavior that is actually pretty rudimentary and straightforward to the most part. THis appears to confuse girls, and is why men always wonder "Why is she asking me THAT?"

If men think so damn well "straightforward" why can't they make the simple and important connection to things like "If I don't tell my wife what I want, she'll never kjnow what I want because she can't read my mind." and "If I throw my shirt behind the couch it will not be found and will not be washed when the laundry is next done."  ?

ok, nothing men do at all has anything to do with laundry. When laundry enters the picture, all the rules change. Unless that rule is "I'd rather not do that"

And actually, it's typically WOMEN who expect the mind reading in life. Or maybe that's just my perception.

Exactly. And don't give me that crap about "reading minds" and "changing rules". It's not acceptable in either gender.
