TWG Forum Trivia
« on: December 01, 2005, 03:07:58 AM »
With all the new people posting, it dawned on me just how long I've been a member here.  It's had to be three or four years now.  You'd think that strange considering the only person on the forum I've actually met was JP.

So let's post some TWG forum trivia for the new folks.

Or something.

I'll start.

1.  My sig is from a long-defunct superhero play-by-post forum game.  Fell was the GM and it was set in high-school.  Sprig's quote comes from the fact that his character was the only one with a low charisma.  The humor comes from the classic Sprig typo.

2. There was a time, long ago, when I was in the top 5 posters here.  This was before SE and Jeffe started their post-run and before the writing group started.  Back, when there weren't any females around too, I think.

Just some random memories.

Trivia is supposed to be questions. (I just had to point that out. Please don't hurt me!)

Actually, no it's not.

Yes, but most often in today's society, unless specified by 'trivial' or things like unto it, it carries the connotation of being a question. Consider it slanged.

Dr P has actually only been around like 2 years or something. I remember when he joined :P

Trivia: SE is a smelly dog.

Trivia: Me and SE once statted up the ninja monkies.

Trivia: When I joined I was a hapless newb, but there wasn't any policing so I got away with it. I didn't use capitals - if you look way back in the tabletop section you can see some of my attempts at paragraphs back when I first joined.

Trivia: The first time I slammed a newbie down, Tage told me to stop. My defense? 'He shouldn't have said fallout 2 wasn't a good game'. :D

If you're ever in an argument and Entropy winds up looking staid and temperate in comparison, it might be time to cut your losses and start a new thread about something else :)

I was the second female to sign up on the boards, with fuzzyoctopus being the first.  Both of us long before Mr_Pleasington signed up.   ;)

But this is the first time you've posted in approximately 4 months :P

I thought Fuzzy came after me.  No.  I don't remember.

And I've been around for longer than 2 years...it's been at least 3 if not 4.  I met my wife 2 years ago and I can still remember the post about internet dating I put up here.

Let's see...here's my first review...

Dated 11/02.  And I know I was here at least a few months, if not longer, before I submitted a review.

Fact: Mr. P registered on Jul 29th, 2002, 12:10am. He's been around over 3 years.

Fact: Entropy registered on May 24th, 2002, 3:20pm. He's only been around 2 months longer than Mr. P

Fact: I was the 7th or 8th person to register on this forum. But I promptly forgot my login and ignored the site for 2 years or so, only sending my articles to Fell every now and then. I started lurking again in January-ish of 2003. and de-lurked a month later.

Fact: the Fell flash animation is from the infamous AORP game I ran. I came up with the Grey Knight concept, though EUOL made it his. I take no responsibility whatsoever for Sir Carl.

Fact: AORP is also why i'm often referred to as SE.

My picture comes from Piers Anthony's Apprentice Adept series. The black unicorn's name is Neysa. I always pronounced it like my nickname, Nessa, although that may not be the pronounciation Mr. Anthony intended.

That is why I use that picture.

1. SE stands for Saint Ehlers, which is one of the many fictional saints created by Brother John--the con artist priest character I played in AORP.

2. AORP is older than TWG, but eventually merged with TWG.

3. TWG started as an article written for the Leading Edge Issue 41 April 2001.

Trivia: The first time Entropy slapped around a newbie, I told him to stop. Nowadays, whenever a newbie annoys me I call upon Entropy to slap him/her around. That reminds me, RaoCar needs some humble pie, I think. Also, Entropy provided the quote for my sig probably over two years ago, and I haven't ever changed it.
"The Maintenance Shed will sometimes spontaneously explode after being built."
