To Austalia!
« on: August 19, 2004, 11:12:49 PM »
Well,
On Sunday my plane departs for Down Under.  I'm really excited!  I may or may not have frequent computer access, but if I do I'll be sure to stop in (hopefully this won't be as long as my recent hiatus from here).

Jam, email me at hoodyfrickinhoo %%%at%%% yahoo dot com and we'll see if we can get together.

I'm staying in Brisbane, in a place called FORTITUDE VALLEY

How cool does that sound?

Of course, given all the poisonous creatures down there, I better have good fortitude.

If you're gonna come here, at least spell the name of the place right:

AustRalia :)

Ok, here's the deal:

I'll e-mail you, and you can give me contact details. A phone number would be most helpful, but we can also do it online, or IM or something.

The Valley (Never call it Fortitude Valley, or you'll sound like a tourist) is where China Town is. Good food. Also, it's only a short walk or bus ride to the city. Be careful though, and don't wander the streets alone at night, as it can be a pretty rough place.

Anyway, I'll email you some contact, and we can figure out where and when to meet. The best place will be somewhere on Queen Street Mall (In the centre of the CBD) so figure out where that is quickly. Not hard, just aim for the tall buildings.

GM: You encounter a fang-toothed kookabura. Mr. P, he surprises you and strikes for 4 damage. Make a fort save or die from his poison. JP, the koala on your back attempts to behead you with his vorpal claws. Make a fort save or die.

I roll an 18, meaning I save on the Fortitude, and hit him with my Whacking Stick. (Thanks to my Koala Whacker feat, that creates no Attack of oppurtunity, plus consider my two levels of Ranger with Favoured Enemy: Koala)

Unfortunately, this is a greater Koala Golem, which means the fort save target is 25, and also that he is immune to whacking effects.

Yes, but did you forget the "Greater Protection from Marsupials" enchantment I got off that wand earlier?

If you are a GM, then there's no fortitude save, since that's a D20 thing, and we all know that D20 uses a DM, not a GM.

A dm is just a gm for a specific game. And not all d20 games call it "DM" anyway. Especially not the one we're running here. Go roll up a new character, headless boy. Your old character has joined the legions of Greater Koala Golem Thralls and is unplayable.
