Okay, I just updated the FAQ, including all of the suggestions people gave. If I missed something, or if you want to make another suggestion, go to the appropriate thread under the Suggestions section.
In addition, I created this thread to keep a list of alterations made to the forum. I also made a sticky thread in the 'Suggestions' topic for people to make general suggestions about the site. It seemed like we were getting a lot of random one/two post threads making tiny suggestions. If anyone has any comments about this, post them here.

I really like the descriptions you made for the different sections. Well done.

I second that. What are you going to say about Alternate Realities? That's a portion of the forum that the senior staff need to have a meeting about, maybe.
-
I left out Alternate Realities for now so that we could do just that. I've debated whether or not to go into detail about each different game. Right now, I think being general in the FAQ is a good idea. These things are too dynamic to keep updating the FAQ every time one dies or starts, and I don't pay much attention to it.
My thought is that there should be a thread in 'What's this' that is an 'Alternate Realities FAQ.' It would be sticky, and it be short and contain single posts by the runners of each game, describing the game, telling how often it is currently updating, and if it's looking for new members or not.
While I agree with what you two have said in the emails, I do think it is good that we now have each category defined. This is particularly important for 'Site News' and 'Suggestions Box,' which I think should generally be left alone by everyone but mods. HoM's book, for instance, probably shouldn't be in 'Site News' but in 'Books' or 'Everything Else.' (But, we let it stay because we wuv him so much.)
Anyway, now we can have a stronger basis for moving threads or deleting posts in these two areas. I agree that Everything Else and Rants (though I tried to come up with a criteria to distinguish the two) should generally allow any kind of thread, and we should resist deleting/locking topics here.
Though, for future reference, perhaps we should move any thread that gets really heated over to 'Rants.' That way, people will know that it's a potentially argumentative topic, and can stay away from it if they're bothered by such things.

Umm SE that thread you linked to for TWG Gaming night is locked becasue Tage got annoyed at us displaying our affection for him. You might want to unlock it or make a new one.
-
there were two, I thought. Well... i'll uhm....
I dunno. Change the title of "international" TWG night and link to that one instead

You may or may not have noticed, I did some updating and addition to the FAQ. It's still incomplete, but I felt like doing some of it.
Naturally, suggestions for improvement or additional inclusions are welcome.

I feel compelled to tease that your attempts at creating a fan club did not go unnoticed.

I feel compelled to follow my own advice and ignore teasing.
but I will go against my better judgement. What is this that you speak of?

Finally, if you find someone particularly interesting, feel free to look at their account by clicking their name, and then scrolling down to find recent posts by that person.

oh, i didn't have anyoen in mind for that. But it's good to know that the only thing that exceeds my ego is my ego's reputation.

Ok. I'm starting to think I'm stupid.
I can't put pictures in my posts.
I checked the "using code" box.
I even found a post with a picture in it, copied the <img...> code and replaced only the URL with what I wanted. It just shows up like this:
<img src="http://www.gertie.cc/pals/photos/104.1.JPEG" alt="" border="0">
What am I doing wrong?
-
that's becasue the forums don't use HTML Skar, they use BBS tags ([/img]url[/img]), but we don't like picures in posts so unless its a very small size just link it, that's the polite thing to do (not everyone has broadband)

Like me.

Gotcha. thanks. It was just a picture of a pug dog for that revelations thread.
