So I have to say, Civ4 is perhaps the most perfect balance of elements from all the Civ games. There are a lot of options for winning the game, and there are a lot of different ways to start the game.

That said, the technical aspects were disappointing. Like Van said, the install was horrible. Also, once I got the game running, it would almost *always* crash at some point. Good thing for autosave.

Maybe a couple patches from now they'll have all the bugs worked out, but I can't help but feel this product was rushed out the door.

I actually think that the random crashes are intentionally built in to the game, because they're virtually the only thing that stopped me from playing for ten hours straight. If this game was any more stable, I'd never get any sleep at all.

This game has yet to crash on my system, nor did I have any install problems.

Civ IV is the best Civ ever.

Hands down.
