Missing a radio station
« on: February 04, 2006, 12:11:28 AM »
WHFS .... why?!

Its been a while since they changed you overnight into a Latino radio station. And while there is a certain irony in that (I heard Stan Ridgeways Mexican Radio first on your airwaves) I miss the station you were. Of course you went downhill when clear channel destroyed your format, and your integrity. You had good DJ's good shows, a heck of a punk and industrial show, and even Reggae on saturday nights. Plus you played TMBG when TMBG wasnt even hip.

You were a good place to start loving music.

Im just feeling a little nostalgic tonight listening to some good old fashioned punk rock.

Well.

bye

:( My sympathies.  That sounds like it was quite the radio station.  Feel as nostalgic as you like.  I often find that sometimes it is a good way to be.

Forgive my utter lack of discretion, but I have to ask. Reggae?

Raggae is cool.  I say kudos to a radio station who will play such a diverse selection.

Before U2 was "classic rock" (I mean, wtf?) HFS played U2 between popular singles. ANd they played War and Unforgettable Fire era music, not just Joshua Tree.

HFS ran the best $20 buck and under concerts under. 20 bands for 20 bucks? and a 12 hour concert at that? I'm up for that, even if I did have to stop going for toplessness reasons.

We need to revive them, Jeffe. It is my goal. There are no good stations on the radio anymore.

and it was always more like 30 bands with all the second stagers and last minute deals.

Best concert festivals ever... and nearly always sold out.
