I'm thinking we should do it mid-June, when Chimera will be in town, so the date right now isn't set in stone. I would be happy to host it again.
Now that the weather is better we should do a little BBQ. We have a good-sized yard/patio, so we can eat outside. I'm thinking everyone bring their own meat, and then if you're coming, RSVP to me (or here) and we can get food assignments out, like chips/drinks/side dishes, whatever. I can provide plates/cups/eating utinsels.
-
Word. I'll be there with whatever food assignment you want to give me.
I think some people might have objections with The Matrix, unless you have a clean version (which would mess with the syncing).
-
I may not be around mid june, but since the weekend I was planning on hitting Idaho is flexable I'm sure I can make this.
-
I want to come. My schedule is a little hectic right now, but if it is on a Friday or Saturday, it's more likely I will be able to come.
-
My June is not looking good. But I don't really like Riftrax anyway.
-
Then you're a goober.
Mid-June works great for me. I'll have to think pretty hard about what I want to watch, though.
-
I'd like to point out, since we have so many new people as well as people that have never come to one of these, that this part is open to any TWGer not just staff and those that occasionally write articles.
-
Fine with me! There's enough room to squeeze everyone in the basement for the movie, and I have a large yard.
Hrm. Maybe I should get a few lawn games to play...
-
To give you another possible option, Nessa, if we wait til late enough, we might able to get a projector and show the movie outdoors. This will depend somewhat on how your neighbors would feel about it, lighting in the area, etc., but its something we (Tage, Euol and I) did a few times at one of our houses.
-
The main reason we're doing it mid-June is because Chimera will be in town. However, Micah, that's a fun idea and should be something we can do later in the summer, like August. There's always a reason for another rifftrax party...
We have a projector, by the way. We just have to unmount it from the ceiling.
It lookes like the dates will potentially be June 14, 15, or 16. What's best for everyone?
Also, Mark will not be home those nights, so I FOR SURE need Sprig to burn a ready-made DVD for me or bring an MP3 player because Mark won't be there to help.
-
Does he not love us anymore?
-
LOL. No, he likes the parties, but he has to work the night of the 14th, and will be out of town that weekend and in St. George to run a triathalon for the Utah Summer Games.
-
Sweet, they just released one for Predator! That's my vote.
-
As long as Eragon dosen't win, I just watched that for the fist time a week ago and I really don't feel like watching it again.
-
Sounds like fun! I'll be there. If you don't mind, I'll probably pack up the Nintendo to keep my boys busy like last time.
-
Ok, the offical date is:
Friday, June 15
And get your votes in for the movie we're going to watch. If you don't want to watch Eragon, you'd better vote for something else.
And Fell, I don't want to watch Predator. Sorry. It's just too scary for me. Cuz I'm a coward.
-
Also this will be potluck so people say what you want to bring.
I'm game for corn on the cob (to be grilled) and meat.
-
A vote for Daredevil is a vote for awesome.
-
It occurs to me that it's been way too long since we had a big TWG game night. If we added some board and card games to this movie night, or just replaced the movie altogether, what would be the reaction?
-
I would prefer replacement.
My worry with combining is that the games will get left behind as is always the case when we plan both.
Or we can do a games on a completely different day, but I agree that it's been way too long since we've had one (last June for the all night cancer walk is the last one I remember)
-
And poopyhead Mustard isn't walking for cancer this year, so that's out. Mustard wants people to die of cancer.
-
I'm tired of helping people who can't even control their own cell growth. Learn a little self-mastery, jerks!
-
Skar, are you coming? I want to show you my veggie garden! It's all fancy and I love it. My yard is drastically different since the last rifftrax, so I can't wait to show it off.
-
I would be honored to see your veggie garden. However, we'll just barely be back from vacation at that point so my attendance is up in the air, recovery and all that. However, if I do come, I will surely bring food.
And perhaps something with which to infect Mustard with cancer, just to give him some perspective.
-
Won't you feel bad when I really do get cancer? Joke's on you, fatboy.
-
But just think how cool my rep would be if you did. I could totally claim credit. Everyone would fear me. Sweet!
-
Nessa, Nytwalker, and Tage all know this, but just to let the rest of you know, I will not be coming into town like I planned. Inflated gas prices are the main thing to blame. So, if you are devastated at once again not being able to have me *in person* at a Rifftrax party (as I am sure all of you are ;)), get SE to send the Ninja Monkeys to take out the gas people. :P
Anyway, point being that you all can have the party whenever you want! :)
-
Well that sucks but no one can blame you with how much it would actually cost to travel out here.
-
Bummer, Chimera. Well, is the date still th 15th? I can bring some of my world famous pasta salad!
-
Yes, we're still having the party on the 15th, with or without Chimera :(
-
OK, things have changed, people! Pay attention!
We aren't doing a Rifftrax. Instead we are having games. A regular (non-Rifftrax) movie will be available for the ladies who would rather not do the excessively nerdy stuff.
It's BYOB. That means, bring your own meat, and then also bring a side-dish or dessert. Spriggan is bringing chips, Micah is bringing pasta salad, Fell is bringing brownies/cookies, and yes, the rest of you must bring something to share.
I will provide the ice cream, drinks, condiments, and paper goods.
It's at my place at 6pm til whenever.
-
Mmm...if there's no riftrax I shall try to attend.
-
It has been sooo long since I have been here! Anyways, I heard about the fiesta from Fell and EUOL and would like to come, but I can't remember where you live, Nessa (I was at the Reign of Fire Rifftrax shindig.) My email is on my profile. Would you be able to send your address? If you're not comfortable with that, I can try and bug Dan and Brandon some more.
-
OK. I emailed the address and phone number to the email on your profile.
-
Someone left a carton of eggs, Spriggan left his sausages (I have already eaten two of the cheddar ones....please! I don't dare have them in my house!), and I have waaayyyy more hot dogs than I know what to do with, so someone please claim them!
-
actually those were 42s I think, I grabbed mine (I ate some for lunch yesterday).
Now Eggs, that's an intresting things to bring to a cookout.
-
Yes, I did bring cheddarwurst. Well, actually I had Spriggan pick me up a package. I don't care for regular hot dogs, do whoever claims the hotdogs can have my cheddarwurst.
