Also, as far as weapons go:  I don't know how airport security for you Limeys has been since 9/11, but people have been detained over here for carrying everything from fingernail clippers to cigarette lighters.

The best post-9/11 airport security story I've heard involves a Transformer. You know, those little toys guys that turn into things? Well, one guy had a Megatron in his suitcase, *in robot form*, when he got searched. For those of you familiar with Megatron, I'm sure you can see what comes next. The security guy, upon finding Megatron, starts talking nostalgiacly with the owner, and starts transforming him. Megatron, for those non-Transformer people, turns into a gun. Not a normal looking gun, a futuristic laser-gun thingy.

And security made him check his bag.

Because a Transformer turned into something that looked like a gun.
