Title: Pokemon
Post by: CHERUBOY7 on February 12, 2006, 07:27:13 AM
Who likes Pokemon?
I do.
Do not crucify me.

*Archon throws Cherub into Tartarus, where the titans proceed to beat the stupid out of him. And by stupid, I mean internal organs.

Crucify him!

You know, the Romans reserved this for only the vilest of criminals: murderers and traitors.
Isn't there something worse we can do to him?

Be nice everyone.

In his profile, it says that Cherub is only 11. At age 11 it's still okay to like Pokemon. He should be able to enjoy it while he can.

Also, this places him in the key demographic for all the sci fi/fantasy writers on the board.

Yes, and he's not posting in all caps anymore.

On a side note my friend Steve, who is as old as me, loves Pokémon.  He plays it all the time and last year when I went to NYC he gave me his gameboy so I could goto Nintendo World and download promotional content for him.

Jam likes Pokemon too.

Though I think he means the cartoon.

Thanks for being supportive but people can enjoy pokemon when they are more than 60 years old.

Also, all hail Mr. Elven kookabura ninja frog monkey man who is eaten by Z.

If pokefans enjoy the cartoon, then they enjoy the thing in general.

Sorry about posting in caps

With all due respect,

Mr. Lee

(Call me Cherub)

That last post wasn't appropriate, Cherub. I deleted it for that reason. Please read the FAQ (http://www.timewastersguide.com/boards/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=news;action=display;num=1080380396)

I would like to make note that I didn't care that he liked pokemon, I was just commenting in my own way on how his original starting post was not a sufficient start to a thread. By the way, that was pretty cute the way you modified your first post Cherub.

Your edit on your first post is not appropriate Cherub.  If you want to make fun of forum members just make a new post instead of completely changing your original post.

I would edit it, but I find it cute that Archon and One Eye have hate posts.

Hey, how come I don't get credit for having a hate post? Or did Sprig just not find it cute?
Also, could someone tell me why in my first post on this thread it has a massive "edit: fixed quote tag?"

I don't find anything about you cute.

I edited the quote tag since you were missing part of the closing tag and everything was displaying as code.

/me advises that no one hold their breath.

/me explains about people with mod authority and how Cherub doesn't have that, and won't. Ever.

Not appropriate. Will delete As soon as I figure out how to.

Look at me. Too good to use subjects in my sentences. Think I have mod powers. Think I have many powers I don't really have. Like Superman powers. Or super-grammar powers. Want to be super-tough so I can keep from crying when I get slapped down.

Funny how you think you can do. Only work on own posts. Only mods kill other's. Who make you define 'appropriate'? Own opinion. Right to state. Get Picture?

Yes, I like Pokemon. I think it is an interesting and rich world, if shallow and not entirely internally consistant. The show has interesting storylines and good art and can be enjoyable, while the games are excellent roleplayers, even if the formula is wearing thin.

I'm glad someone likes the concept of Pokemon. It is a very good, if probably the best of all time, game.
But that's just my opinion.

The spelling mistakes and missed-out words just mean he's digging himself deeper into the hole of shame.

And by hole of shame, I mean hole of shame and many insults.

Way to spell your own nickname wrong, dunce. E was telling everyone not to hold their breath about you ever getting mod powers. Mod powers allow you to do things like edit other people's posts. And by the way, nobody cares what you think. And they won't start to care until you prove that you are anything other than a whiny, immature, little kid. And you are off to an atrocious start. So far, you have attempted to insult me, Harbinger, OneEye, and e. Although Harbinger and OneEye haven't been around that long, they have still been around longer than you have, and they have certainly proved to be more valued members than you have. As for e, he is one of the co-founders of the site. He is the most consistent contributor to discussion on the site. And he is a mod. Not a good person to mess with if you want to stay. If you want to stay, straighten up, learn to pick your battles, read the FAQ, listen to the FAQ, and put some thought into your posts. You will find that people are much more friendly that way.

I'm just glad people can tell the difference between my brother and I.

Why do we even have support for that feature? It's like putting a <blink> tag out there and begging people to use it.
Title: Re: Pokemon
Post by: JP Dogberry on February 28, 2006, 01:47:52 AM
Firefox does not support the blink tag.

This is a feature, not a bug.
Title: Re: Pokemon
Post by: Spriggan on February 28, 2006, 09:00:55 AM
IE 6 only has it because MS likes to keep compatibility between browsers.

Though I may add custom blink tags to the new forum just for fun....*laughs evilly.

Sorry, I had no idea that e was a co-founder, and by the way, who are you calling a kid? I know I am one, but that doesn't make me, how do you put it? "A  whiny, immature, little kid." How cute.

No. Especially not because of your next post, but no even if you hadn't.

I have so many issues with this post.
a) why does it matter if I'm a "co-founder" or not? (I thought about denying this allegation, but if there are "co-founders" there are few who are more co-founder than I am). You still acted like a git to someone who was here before you and had more acceptance. Not the way to win friends and influence people, boy.
b) and no, beign a kid doesn't automatically make you whiny or immature, but wow, your post history sure does.

OK, I've ignored this thread for too long. While doing newbie smack-down is ok, and so is the newb defending himself, I draw the line and making things too personal.

This thread is already too far down that slippery slope and can't be rescued in any meaningful way.  Plus we've hit the point where the discussion is the same thing without advancing anywhere and no one want to see a 5+ page thread with the newb and Archon arguing.
Time to move on everyone.
