still I find it ironic that Iran would rather just print holocaust cartoons rather than advocate the death of all Danes.
on that note, I think Im gonna have a Danish.
I don't dislike Valentine's Day as a sort of celebration of affection but have become a bit hardened against its more innocent intentions due to its seemingly unstoppable commercialization. It somewhat lost its enchanting quality when I realized that words written upon candy hearts aren't set in stone (despite that they may taste otherwise).
I was raised to believe in what I know now to be impossible or otherwise ridiculous: that a large man skilled in subjugation of scores of mythical midgets will spend one evening per year sowing the seeds of communism in the hearts of children, that a rabbit with a peculiar fetish and an unprecedented advertising affiliation with Christ will convert the unborn children of poultry into chocolate-covered treats, and that the winged apprentice of a headhunter will be rewarded handsomely on a nightly basis for its capture of the discarded teeth of thousands of children (but will generously donate a cut of its prior profits -- under the table pillow, even, in what can be only an early lesson in tax evasion -- to those who're willing to contribute to her education).
Valentine's Day doesn't really abide by any sort of consistent legend in its presentation, though, and wasn't a festivity against which I could eventually claim denial due to any silliness in its forced narrative; its purpose is and was rather clear even as we sifted with hands sticky from amateur usage of gluesticks through bags of assymetrical hearts bearing dangerously jagged curves or images of Snoopy professing static love to whomever'd stare at him for a moment. We hadn't any worries of roses or candlelight or hairstyles but nevertheless found stupid joy in sharing with others our time and more than likely cruelly abused construction paper.
I've too easily forgotten that sort of unconditional appreciation and hope that I'm able to treat Valentine's Day with more optimism than that to which I'm accustomed.
Remember when a "pop-up" was something you saw at a baseball game, "cookies" made you think of Mrs. Fields, and "Zip drive" made you think of a giraffe made of marzipan? When, if someone asked you to "download something," you accused them of planting tiny receivers under your skin, and when someone said "screen saver" you shrieked and looked around frantically for Filipinos trying to bite the back of your thighs?
"We are a species that needs and wants to understand who we are. Sheep lice do not seem to share this longing, which is one reason why they write so little."

I went out to lunch with a friend. I ordered a big, juicy steak. He ordered a big green salad. "You know," he said to me, "you should be a vegetarian too. You'd be healthier and live longer."
I picked up my steak and flapped it in his face. I said, "This cow was a vegetarian, and it ain't looking so good right now."

did you read my suggestion to write a book about the Berlin Wall coming down? I would base it from the experience of the anonymous small guy who said, "we are not keeping people in anymore." And make him not Mormon, but friends with a Mormon, not even a particularly good Mormon. Have him die at the end.
Thank you, you whoever.
... any time a female answers any question with the word nothing, she is lying. Especially if she says it after a small pause. The word nothing actually means "something significant which you had better keep trying to figure out if you care anything at all about this relationship."
Welcome back, Chimera! How's the internship going with the New Era?

After the war, Conqueror returned to Faslane, flying the Jolly Roger, a customary act of Royal Navy submarines after a "kill". When asked about the incident later, Cdr Wreford-Brown responded, "The Royal Navy spent thirteen years preparing me for such an occasion. It would have been regarded as extremely dreary if I had fouled it up."

Ouch, that hits close to home.

"The only sovereign you can allow to rule you is reason.A great quote from a great series. I also like this one.
The first law of reason is this: what exists, exists, what is, is and from this irreducible bedrock principle, all knowledge is built. It is the foundation from which life is embraced.
Thinking is a choice. Wishes and whims are not facts nor are they a means to discover them. Reason is our only way of grasping reality; it is our basic tool of survival. We are free to evade the effort of thinking, to reject reason, but we are not free to avoid the penalty of the abyss that we refuse to see. Faith and feelings are the darkness to reasons light. In rejecting reason, refusing to think, one embraces death."

Where do I know that name?? What does he do??
YOU'VE NEVER SEEN THE OLD NINJA TURTLES!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
Sorry caps. >>
Also known as Hamato Yoshi. In the cartoon at least he was also know as Hamato Yoshi but in the movie Splinter was Hamato Yoshi's pet rat. Enemy of Oroku Saki aslo know as Shredder. Was transformed by the same mutagen that transformed the turtles. Oh this brings back many a great memory. Backster Stockman, The Foot Clan, The Tetra Dome, The Neutrinos, Demension X, pizza, sewers, sweet human masks and so much more. That show was amazing.
Sometimes as President you have to do what you think is right regardless of what the popularity polls say. That's what Presidents do: take the information at hand, recognize the threats, and lead. And when you're protecting the security of the United States you don't have the luxury of saying, 'Oh, I don't think I'll do this because the polls say not to do it.' You have to lead.
