Ok... so this has been bugging me since.... probably saturday or sunday. But I have not been able to log onto mIRC since. It continually gives me a "Unable to connect to server (Connection refused)" error. Why fore! I ask, why fore? Anyone got any information that might be helpful? I know Tage might be knowledgable enough to know. Anyone?
-
have you tried different servers?
-
nope, they don't work either.
-
check for firewall blocking it. Call your ISP (the school?) and ask them if they've blocked it or if there's another problem.
-
Yeah, did that. They said to call back at 2. At which time I'll be 30 minutes into the Incredibles.
-
Well, the guy was suppose to call me at 4:30. It's now 5:30 and he's never called. I called around 5, got the secretaries voice mail and was left without any help for the day.
Awesome.

Ok, so aside from me being unable to connect to irc, there's a few other problems I've been having because of this port blocking crapulence.
It would seem that Norton is unable to update itself because of this. Ah, it would seem that AVG as well cannot update itself. Well, this a most excellent thing that goes on then. I believe phone calls are going to be made now.

I'm still trying to puzzle out the subject of this thread.

Gemm, tell me. Why do you have TWO AV systems on your computer? Trying to slow it down as much as possible?
-
Yes, yes I am. It's not like I run anything else on it, since I can't connect to mIRC, or install and play any games. So I may as well drain as much power from the school as I can muster.
