A 40K mod for TA!!!  I'll have to check that out...well, I guess I'd have to find my copy of TA first...

Dang Nabbit, Spriggan! You beat me to it.  I was going to dub today "Geek Day '02" since the extended LOTR and Episode II both came out today.

I can't wait to watch LOTR...I have waited since it was in theatres to view it again so it would feel like new.  I'm going to pop it in in mere moments, I believe.

;D

Charlie:  Playing TA?  Is that Total Annihilation or are my game acronyms out of date?  Are people still playing that?   That game brings back fond memories...

I have a little time today so I might do just that.  Might be more of an overhaul than a revision though as it's not very organized.  I'll email the revision to you tonight :)

The new Bond game does indeed look cool, Slant...although Agent Under Fire wasn't all that great.  Hopefully this next one will bring the Bond series back to its former glory.

Timesplitters 2 just came out though and it was designed by the same folks who did Goldeneye and Perfect Dark (both games I played a lot in undergrad...when we weren't playing Super Smash Bros. that is).   It's only the second Gamecube game that goes on my "Must Own" List

Nintendo's also trying to go live, though reports are all over the place about the details.  Doesn't matter much to me, I'll be too busy playing Timesplitters 2 and Metroid: Prime this month to be envious of other consoles :)

Just to note...the above "fairness" comment was pure sarcasm.  Should have used a smiley...

We have lasers, they have chemicals.  I'm a little more afraid of theirs...

Because it would be unfair to the countries who can't afford a Spotlight O' Doom.

Man, I love PVP.  It's one of the few webcomics I check daily.

A few months back I picked up a few issues of the new Tranformers and GI Joe comics for nostalgia's sake.  I really dug the art in TF, but never got any more issues.

On a related note, I did watch the first episode of Tranformers:Armada on Cartoon Network the other day.  I thought it was pretty good, although it now has a Pokeman "gotta catch 'em all" story arc.  Probably won't hold a candle to the old series, but I'll hold my final judgement.

I have always wanted to check out Hellboy, but have no idea where to start.  It looks like my kind of thing.

Like the disaster movie rush of the 70's and 90's, superhero movies tend to go in trends.  In the early 80's, Superheroes were hugely popular again after a dry spell in the 70's.  The Superman movie, Superfriends, Spider Man and friends, The Greatest American Hero, etc. all threw fuel on the fire.  Then Hollywood moved onto other things.   Now, the superhero trend is returning and has delivered some real gems.

I don't know how much I'm looking forward to the glut of upcoming movies though.  I wasn't digging Daredevil too much until I saw the teaser trailer this summer.  It really whet my appetite.  I agree with KK's take on the upcoming films, however I think the glut will kill Superhero films for another decade or so.

I saw a copy of 4th edition once, earlier this year.  It was at a used game auction here in St. Louis.  So it does actually exist, though no store around here carries it.  Just about any FLGS should happily order it for you though.

Did you take a look at the picture of it.  It looks like the Might Spotlight of Doom (tm)!

Have you all seen this:  http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/nm/20021105/ts_nm/arms_usa_laser_dc_6

This is something I think the military has had the capabilities of doing for more than a few years now, but is just now leaking as war looks imminent.   I'm not a a big conspiracy theorist, but for as much has been said about it since the Star Wars Program failed, you just knew they had to be working on it.

Anyway, looks like the troops will be a little safer and war is beginning to look more and more like an RTS game.
