If you buy the new iPhone then yeah you do have video capture, but that's like a whole new phone. ha ha.

I don't think it's a waste of time if you're doing it kind of as a, 'Oh, I'll just give this a shot.' Not a serious thing where you, like, practice for it or something. IMO, practicing texting quickly is a waste of time; then again, other people might think some of the things I practice are a waste of time, so I'm keeping this IMO.

You can capture video on the old iphone using an unsanctioned program you install using Cydia. But it records in a limited framerate. The new iPhone 3G S's processor is much faster and its camera is a bit better; that may be a couple reasons officially supported video exists only on it.
