A Whole New... Dr. Pepper...
« on: January 18, 2005, 09:28:29 PM »
Yeah, so I found a new pop. It is called "Diet Cherry Vanilla Dr Pepper." Yeah, it's very odd. I couldn't find a regular Cherry Vanilla Dr Pepper. It only comes in Diet I guess. It has the strangest taste.

You get cherry, then vanilla tastes, then the regular dr pepper taste. It's like drinking Vanilla Pepsi, Cherry Coke, and Dr. Pepper. Just without the Pepsi or Coke in it.

My new year's resolution was to stop drinking cola. It makes you die.

*shudders at the use of the term 'pop'*

Wow, I haven't heard that since undergrad.  I thought and hoped I'd never hear someone call 'soda' 'pop' ever again.  :)

Oddly enough, my roomie and his wife picked up a case of this stuff and have been guzzling it down.  As every cherry and every vanilla cola I've tasted have a horrible aftertaste, I can't imagine what the combination will do.

I never realized there were people who actually called soda "pop" until I came to Utah.  I almost died when I saw the overhead aisle sign in the grocery store with the word "pop" on it.  The things you learn.

Wow, Ohio, huh?

I didn't think 'pop' went that far east.  To my knowledge it was focuesed in the west and northern midwest.

Someone made a distribution map somewhere online that detailed this very sort of thing.  Now to try out my Google-fu.

That was easy:

Looks like I'm in a bastion of 'soda' surrounded by enemies on all sides.

Does that make me a blue stater?  :)  (man, I sure hope not)

Uh, don't you live in St. Louis? That's only 4 hours from where I grew up, and we say pop. Don't you hear it all the time?

I'd just like to make sure we give Gemm his due for a completely awsome comeback on this thread.  This post made me laugh so hard.

Yeah that chart shows heavy "pop" usage around the Great Lakes region I see.  Makes sense.
