Done!  (Mark XV)
« on: March 31, 2005, 03:32:22 PM »
Well, I finally finished WELL OF ASCENSION last night.  It's 56 chapters and an epilogue, 1260 pages, 260,000 words.

For those of you keeping score, this is book number 15, and my first official sequel.

Wait what? What can be done exactly SE?

That's a huge page count. And for a sequel too. Holy crap, you're like some kind of writing machine that doesn't stop until you've gotten yourself a foot stuck in the dryer. Pratically amazing.

Your mask of sudden realization SE reveals to me a deeper truth about the corruptedness frothing from the liquid nyquil in your dapper.

Yay!

I figured you were going to finish before going back to Mistborn. Long book...I'm interested to see if it's as good as Mistborn, because that book was dang good.

Your process is different from CJ Cherryh's...she's the only other one I pay attention to sometimes, as she has a pretty much daily blog including her word count. Seems she revises a lot as she goes, starts each day fixing the stuff she wrote the day before, and then when the whole book is done goes back and tightens it up in less than a week.
All Saiyuki fans should check out Dazzle! Emotionally wrenching action-adventure and quirky humor! (At least read chapter 6 and tell me if you're not hooked.) Volume 10 out now!

Yes, yes. Good job indeed though EUOL! I am mentioning my congratulations to you now. I also offer that I've almost gotten a good 1-2/3's of a book of poetry done. In your face Santana.
